Brian2034 Posted May 15 Report Posted May 15 (edited) I know the topic has been discussed dozens of times! But I can’t seem to find a definitive answer on operating RPM limitation for my particular aircraft 1962 M20C The POH that came with the aircraft looks brand new and I think it’s a generic POH for multiple years? It shows no restriction? Edited May 15 by Brian2034 Quote

Is it the booklet POH (see pic)? Mooney produced an ‘Owner’s Manual’ to provide additional information lacking in the POH that came with the aircraft when delivered. You should have a POH that’s on 8.5 x 11 typing paper. It will have your serial number on it and factory weight and balance data with as-delivered optional equipment. At least, that’s what I have for a POH on my ‘63C. Quote
PT20J Posted May 16 Report Posted May 16 The TCDS should be definitive. https://drs.faa.gov/browse/excelExternalWindow/6EA0F05ECCA8304486258305006833CF.0001?modalOpened=true 2 1 Quote
PT20J Posted May 16 Report Posted May 16 By the way, Pilot's Operating Handbooks did not exist before GAMA issued it's specification 1 in 1975. Earlier documents were operating manuals, operating instructions, owner's manuals or whatever the manufacturer wanted to call them and varied in information content. 3 Quote
Ragsf15e Posted May 16 Report Posted May 16 Also, if you’re airplane has a different prop stc, that could have a different yellow arc restriction. What prop do you have? 4 Quote

Indeed and those installations should come with revisions to the limitations section of the operating manual/POH as well as a placard for the tach with a revised yellow/red arc. Quote
