Increased useful load

I am a new Bravo owner, and like many I am reading about, would really love to have more useful load.

 

Has anyone heard of any advancement lately in this happening? Above is the article I came across while searching online.

It would cost a lot of money for Mooney to engineer this and get it approved. They were talking about a completely new landing gear with struts.

It was estimated at one point that it would be at least a $50,000 - $100,000 cost per owner if it ever got approved. 

It's likely that Mooney resources would be much better spent just helping to keep the the fleet flying as-is.

The only increase in useful load I can obtain in my Bravo is with less fuel  !!!!

3368 lb is most likely end of totem pole, higher MTOW with same engine further reduces climb, easiest way to increase UL is avionics upgrade getting rid of electromechanical instruments

Rear seats are about 30 lb

Frank Crawford attended Mooney Summit via Zoom.  This was asked.  He said, it is still being worked on, but they had to remove some equipment from a hangar and it is not in the main hangar, but it needs to be assembled/setup. 

No clue when that might be done.

I was able to obtain an impressive 20 pound increase in the useful load on my M for ZERO cost.  

How? By getting rid of a bit of useless load by diet and exercise, climbs better, I felt better, all good!

Unfortunately, I’m finishing up a week in Spain and my useful load just took at least a 20 pound hit
