For years I have carried a large "Flight Gear" flight bag. It is about 10" deep x 10" wide x 22" long. It carried two headsets, two fat Jeppesen books, a handheld nav/com radio, kneeboard, logbook, Garmin 696, a couple of small flashlights and several small misc. items. Since I switched to an IPad, I figure I could eliminate about 10 inches out of the middle. I would really like to switch to a smaller bag, but most of the ones I have found that have two headset pouches are about that size. Any ideas?

Another endorsement for the Brightline flight bag.  I had the original, and about a year later traded up for the then newest version.  Plenty of well laid out zippered pockets for just about everything I would want to carry.  Good construction, and in my opinion, it sells for a resonable price. I like the units so much that I have given at least three of my aviation friends Brightline bags for Christmas or Chanukah.  Highest recommendations for an honest, useful product. By the way, the owner of Brightline is a (helicopter) pilot. I met him at several airshows (after I bought my first Brightline flightbag).  Good guy. If you get the chance to meet him I think you will find that he is always open for suggestions to make the units even better.

When I saw the Brightline bag reviews, I said to myself..."what kind of bored flying geek would need this"? In one fell swoop, it became the most effective purchase I have ever made. Doubt it would hold the 2 headsets, but one for sure. If you are no longer hauling lots of Jepp binders, it really is the best purchase you could make. Heck, buy it to augment another, larger bag if need be. It's that useful. Very well thought out.

My flight bag is a plastic Sterlite container with clips on each end. Works great and I can see thru it too. I used to carry a big bag and found that this plastic container works great for me.

I got this bag from Spruce a couple of years ago, but don't remember the brand. The co-pilot fold-down desk is very nice, with lots of little pockets, pouches and zippers to hold lots of stuff. When I have a passenger, I zip it shut and throw the shoulder strap over the back seat, and it rides nicely in reach on the right rear seat. It is tall enough to stand up a sectional or en-route and zip closed over it.

The center section should hold two headsets; since I've upgraded to Halos by Quiet Technologies, it will probably hold 8 or 10 sets in their cases, or several dozen without cases. It has a movable divider held in with velcro, and in the photo there are lots of things covered by the paper and E6B in the "desk" area. I'll try to remember to look up the name when I go by the airport the next time.

My toolbox is a Rubbermaid container about 2" shorter than the baggage area, and thick enough to carry a quart of oil. Plus assorted tools, gloves, etc. It's long, wide, flat and makes a good platform for stacking misc. cargo on top of.

I like my Brightline bag. I was not really in the market for a new bag but a friend of mine who owns  pilotjunk.com was raving about his new bag. I tried it and was hooked. I also carry a small backpack so when I am on multi-day trips I can put the iPad and whatever charts I need for flight planning in the backpack and leave the Brightline in the plane. I also keep the energy bars and food in the backpack. I don't like to leave food in the plane overnight. Never had any plane damag ebut have had mice in the palne a couple times. If I get tied down on the edge of the ramp near grass and fields I set a mouse trap up on the floor, and have caught a couple mice. Topic drift. Sorry.

Bright line bag: good.
