flyboy0681 Posted August 23, 2023 Report Posted August 23, 2023 I recently discovered that the hours on the tach have stopped working. I really don't want to go through the expense of buying a new one, so I was wondering if there are any shops out there that specialize in a repair of this type.
A64Pilot Posted August 23, 2023 Report Posted August 23, 2023 There are several. Just can’t bring the name of the one in Fl we used to use, they were an instrument repair station, remarked A/S speed indicators and repaired instruments, they aren’t uncommon. I have never used this resource, just found it on Google but it ought to give some names you can call https://www.globalair.com/directories/repair-31.html Just remembered it was Naylor’s located in Gainsville, it’s a small shop from memory it used to be a quickie mart building or similar, I haven’t been there in years https://www.naylorsinstrument.com/GeneralInfo.html

They can't do the job because they wouldn't be able to certify the tach, but suggested that I contact Aircraft Spruce because they are a Mitchell dealer and can have the hours meter set to a predetermined value before shipping it out. But thanks for the reply.
Rmfriday Posted August 28, 2023 Report Posted August 28, 2023 You can reach out to Mitchell directly if it is a Mitchell tach, i did this last year and they where extremely helpful.

Maybe you are thinking this is a problem, when it is in fact a blessing. LOL
