What switches are required on panel for electric step?

I’m considering a redo of my panel. I have a 2500 MAX. I’d like to remove my vacuum gauge. Do you need it legally if you have a vacuum step? I don’t want to cut a hole for it only to remove it later. When the electric step is added, what spots are needed on the panel? Im thinking I could create a blank that can be removed.

There are actually a variety of different ways of doing the electric step conversion.  It can be wired to a dedicated switch which is what I did since I had an extra position, or it can be wired to the master so the step comes up when you turn the master on, or the avionics master etc.

I removed my vacuum gauge when I removed my vacuum system and converted to the electric step.

An airspeed switch plumbed off the pitot-static system is another good slick option as well.

Oh that’s right. So I basically don’t have to do anything special with the panel. That’s easy enough.

I have mine wired to the beacon switch.
