bd32322 Posted February 11, 2012 Report Posted February 11, 2012 I just bought a JPI oil temp probe for the edm 700 and according to JPIs site - the voltage across the terminals should be 4 mV when in boiling water. I am only getting 3 mV. Anyone else tried this? I'd like to figure out if I got a bad probe before I go install it. I could get the answers from JPI on Monday too when they open but I am a bit impatient and figured I'd check the boards first. Thanks Quote
mooney2201 Posted February 11, 2012 Report Posted February 11, 2012 meter could be off...if not calibrated.......just put it in the plane and see what temp you come up with, should be between 184 and 198 in climb out..depends what ambient temp is where your flying....if you oil gets hot the edm will warn you of over temp....... N601RX Posted February 11, 2012 Report Posted February 11, 2012 I would not worry about 1 mv. Thermocouples have a very high impedence output. Just touching the probes of the meter will change the readings. Quote
