Hey everyone,

I'm very fortunate to own a beautiful 1968 Cessna 177 Cardinal, but I think it's time that I upgrade. I want something that can do a 150-350NM trip in under 3 hours. On my list so far is a C/E Mooney, a Comanche 180/250, or a Bellanca Viking. I was wondering, is there anyone in the Western NY/ Rochester area that would be willing to take me up on a quick flight so I can see how a Mooney flies? Gas is on me!

I'm in downstate NY. I could meet half way in Jan or Feb if there's some good weather. But I don't have a C/E.

I like our E but would a C/E be much of an upgrade from a 177? I think you'd only get maybe 15-20mph more in cruise and 177 is more comfortable and two massive doors are great.

It's the 1968 model with the o-320 so I cruise at about 110 knots. What speeds do you get in your m20e?

We're usually ~145MPH IAS and ~165MPH TAS around 6,500-8,500.  It's a '65 with the MPH on the outer ring so for kts it would be more like 126kts IAS and 145kts TAS
