PASDLT Posted April 27, 2022 Report Posted April 27, 2022 Hello Mooniacs!!! My buddy and I are in need of a mechanic shop by central Ohio. Does anyone has a good reco with time to go take a look at it? She is currently in KOSU. Our M20c had an incident and we need a quote to replace/fix prop. Please DM. Your help is truly appreciated.

If you have a damaged prop it’s more than likely going to require an engine inspection. Either sudden stoppage or the crank will need to be dialed regardless if prop damaged at standstill.
carusoam Posted April 27, 2022 Report Posted April 27, 2022 Standby PAS, There will be a few OHIO MSers cruising by over time… Tough first post… Lycoming has a document for how they define a prop strike… and what needs to be done after one occurs… You may want to start with posting a pic… scratches and bent metal are probably in the strike category… Include some detail of what occurred…. Examples… 1) Gear up landing… power off, but spinning prop contacts the ground… 2) Bounced landing… porpoise routine… the third bounce drives the prop into the ground… 3) Pot holes and errant vehicle traffic bump the prop… If you need a prop… There are a few Mooney recyclers around here… Start with @Alan Fox he visits here often… For a great resource for prop information…. Call on @Cody Stallings he is our prop guy… and is really good with recommendations regarding your situation and what to do next… Plane is at KOSU, where is its home drome? PP thoughts only, not a mechanic… Best regards, -a- 1
