Hello everyone!

I just purchased my first Mooney!  We sold our RV-6 and were looking for a more capable traveling airplane.  So far we love it!  Fingers crossed for a good ownership experience!

Hi Ian,

congrats.  I see you’re at KEET.  Just a couple weeks ago I ferried and trained up someone based there who bought a K model.  So, you are not alone there!  Enjoy!

Is that the white/black/blue one?  Looks sharp from a distance.  Haven't seen it up close yet.

Yes, it’s kinda ratty inside, but he says he wants to get an all glass panel.  I suggested he get his instrument rating first to even make use of it.

I am looking to buy my first plane. I've looked at Pipers a lot, but when I look at what can get me the most bang for my buck I always come back to a Mooney. I believe that I want a manual gear model. Unfortunately I just don't know what I don't know I would like some good advice from those who do know.

Welcome aboard RLW!

Selecting the right Mooney for you…. Is a fun process.

If you can start your own thread on MS….

You can find out a lot about your needs, wants, and could haves…

It really helps if you aren’t afraid to discuss some sorta personal details… finance, mission, experience, where you want to be in the coming years…

:)

Best regards,

-a-

My first plane was a Mooney, a nice electric gear C that I bought five weeks after my PPL checkride. So far (14-1/2 years), it's been great!

Find one in good mechanical condition, regularly flown, with as many instruments / avionics that you want already installed.

Like @carusoammentioned, start your own thread and include your location.  Mooney guys love showing off their planes.  Prob could get someone nearby to take you up.
