Anybody have any details? Newswire said M20J, two dead, two injured, a/c had trouble making altitude.

Oh no!

That's a beautiful grass strip, 3500'. Takeoff towards the water is common and pretty open, landing toward the water is more difficult due to tall pine trees with power lines in them that displace the threshold. Taking off that way heavy or on soft, wet ground could be problematic.

Thanks for the notice. We will engage the Bill Gilliland foundation once we learn the surviving Mooney pilot's spouses contact info. Our prayers and thoughts go out for all and hope for complete, speedy recoveries for the injured.

We are still trying to ascertain if William Roberts Jr. has a spouse. Does anyone in the Ham radio community (He was big there) or flying musicians association know if he did and if so, what her name might perhaps be? If so, please PM me.

Thanks

Thanks for what you do, Mike. It's not a pleasant task.

Thanks Ron.

Mike

EDIT: Ron has supplied us with spousal information. Later next week after my wife and I return from a memorial for her father who died of rona last year, we will reach out to Beth and offer assistance once we have vetted the information
