Bob R Posted September 17, 2021 Report Posted September 17, 2021 My E model right side overlay needs help. I am trying to refurb it but I am also looking for another one. I’ve seen this one in 68-70 F models. While plane plastics makes the left side, no such luck for the left side. I’ve attached a pic if anyone happens to have one. Thx, Bob Quote
PT20J Posted September 17, 2021 Report Posted September 17, 2021 Talk to Plane Plastics and see if they will take yours and make a mold. That's how they got all their parts. Skip 1 Quote

I guess they figure the demand is low for this particular one so I’m trying to find one in better shape than mine. Bob 1 Quote

Age hasn’t been very good to these thin plastic thermoformed parts… they all get brittle and are in a highly trafficked area… Good luck with the hunt… Best regards, -a- Quote
PT20J Posted September 17, 2021 Report Posted September 17, 2021 That panel looks repairable. A couple of layers of glass cloth with ABS cement on the back will strengthen it. Sand the front and fill any gaps with Permatex Plastic Weld or similar and sand smooth. Spray with SEM Texture Coat and then SEM Color Coat in whatever color you want. 1 Quote
M20F-1968 Posted September 18, 2021 Report Posted September 18, 2021 Start with the material of your choice. You can get various material to use. Look for fire retardant and solid material so that is can be cut and shaped with a router. Then spray paint with an epoxy paint. John Breda Quote
