  1. After you get the pin in, safety wire it. It will stay in and do the safety wire properly and you’ll never see it.
  2. Replacing the old yokes with the newer version will permanently comply with the AD. I did mine about a year ago. Lasar had one and ordered the other which took about 4 months as it had to be manufactured by Mooney. I hear they are currently not available to be ordered. BTW, Top Gun did not have them as well.
  3. They are not required. I have the pilot side yoke, disengagement button, pilot control valve(very recently overhauled), tubing and hardware. It’s a pretty simple system and works well keeping the wings level.
  4. I just went to a local bone yard, Faeth Air to be exact in Sacramento. Almost all flap actuators have the same 20:1 gear set in them as the Mooney actuator Jack screw. The issue will be setting them up. While I did do this one year, I’m so happy I decided to do the gear change with the exception of robbing a bank to pay for it. The gear is so smooth and none of that abruptness.
  5. You can get them through Lasar and other Mooney dealers. Send them the whole Jack screw assembly and they will set the gears up. There is some shimming involved much line a ring and pinion in a car rear end. Bob
  6. Hey all, Does anyone know if the GFC500 can use my existing electric Aerotrim trim as opposed to having to purchase the trim option for an additional $2500?
  7. Yes he is. He rebuilt my TC 100 and my pilot control valve.
  8. $1000 each or so for the shafts. Found a nice pair of J control wheels for $450.
  9. Interested to hear about this as well. Garmin Pilot has this feature but never even thought of using it.
  10. Do any of you who what replaced your AeroTrim STC'ed trim with autopilot servo have this electric trim motor mount laying around? I do not need one but @JoeM is looking for one. He just order some new sprockets for the motor if anyone needs one.
  11. Lasar had one but the pilot side lead time was 8-12 weeks. It took about 15 weeks to receive it. Have to say that after actually seeing the difference in shaft thickness, I was happy I retired this AD.
  12. If you are interested, I have 2 pilot side yokes I am interested in parting with. Both are freshly powder coated in the off-white. If interested, make me an offer and I can send you pics.
  13. If you happen to possess the Aerotriminc STC unit that was maybe installed before the KAP system, I know someone looking for the motor, sprocket and motor bracket.
  14. I’d have to look to be sure, but should come on at 12 or 14”.
  15. I just re-rigged my E. Made a huge difference.
  16. The Red and Green tubing indicate the wing it feeds. When I overhauled my PC system, I needed to replace the left wing tubing which runs to a T behind the left-hand baggage compartment panel. Could not find a smaller quantity of the Parker red tubing for the left wing so used opaque and marked it with red electrical tape.
  17. 70kt final and flare 65kt over threshold works for me when alone. Hold a bit higher speed at higher gross.
  18. Agreed. Fixed mine which had several issues. I have the original Parker part numbers, supplied by Brittian, for the poly flex tubing and compression nuts. May have uploaded them already but reach out if you want them. Hoses and Fittings, as well as others carry them. Just don’t tell them it’s for an airplane.
  19. I hated the idea of doing it as well but so glad I did. Gear is now smooth and not abrupt. Was just shy of the $2700, mostly the cost of the gear set, $1850, from Mooney if I recall correctly. The Jack screw is a very easy in and out especially if you can leave the airplane up on jacks. Took the opportunity to re-rig the landing gear. It was way out of spec. Unfortunately, the new gears only get us out of the AD for the first 500 hours. I’ve been told by several AP/IA’s that the AD should be rewritten to allow for P.C.W. for those who have installed the new gear set, but will probably never happen. Have heard the gears are the same as later model Mooneys, J and up.
  20. I fabricated one out of fiberglass, padded, then covered with ultra-leather.
  21. Unfortunately the vault does go dry eventually.
  22. Mine runs the TC100 (along with Electric) and the PC system. I could remove the TC100 since I have G5's. I already have kit for the Vacuum Pump removal but will probably wait till I do the AP. Nice to have the wing leveler for a bit of piece of mind in IFR.
