Removed when I upgraded my S-Tec 55 to a GFC-500.  I was told that this is the same sensor used for altitude hold and vertical speed on all S-Tec APs that support those functions but please check the part number.  It worked fine when removed (18 months ago or so).  The used prices I've seen online (e-bay, Texas Air Salvage, etc.) range from $220 - $495.  How about $150 OBO
