ZuluZulu Posted July 20, 2020 Report Posted July 20, 2020 Recent primary engine monitor upgrade or new glass panel? I would like a working Electronics International M-1 digital manifold pressure gauge. I have an EI digital tach and love it, so I'm looking to complete the set. As long as yours works properly, I'm interested! P.S. Scammers will be reported! Quote

ZuluZulu Posted July 20, 2020 Author Report Posted July 20, 2020 Thanks, I'll check those out! My analog gauge is technically working fine, so the only way I can justify this completely unnecessary upgrade to myself is a good price... 1 Quote

That’s funny cuz I was just browsing earlier and picked up a EI Tach for 100$. Quote
MIm20c Posted July 20, 2020 Report Posted July 20, 2020 Sorry, no help on the MP gauge. However, please tell me you’re launching that torpedo off the wing for good...:) Quote
carusoam Posted July 20, 2020 Report Posted July 20, 2020 It all starts so simply... A re-painted tach looked so updated... Then an EI tach and MP gauge.... Much better visibility of what is going on.... Then Wham...!!! That forever plane started sporting multiple Aspen screens... GTNs a plenty... A good EI engine monitor goes a long way... It seemed like it happened overnight... Possibly overdecade... Technically they are much better than mechanical analog gauges... True CBs enjoy a good pre-flown device... Go for it... forever planes aren’t range bound... The above description isn’t any one singular MSer... but it does cover how many MSers add valuable skills and hardware to their ships... PP thoughts only, not a parts sales guy... Best regards, -a- 3 Quote

I loved my EI gauges so much that I left them when I installed a full blown engine monitor. Nice to have redundancy. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro 2 Quote

I know when my RPM unit came in, it was not configured for the RPM limitations of my plane and they reconfigured it for free (it was a new unit but I think my mechanic bought it without the limitations). I purchased the FP-5L back in the 1990s and when I purchased the MP/RPM units they came with LED backlighting. I inquired about converting to LED and they made the change and went through the unit for a very reasonable price. EI is a great company to work with. Just wish they made avionics... 1 Quote

EI will reconfigure them for $125. I recently asked them that question as I am planning an Encore conversion which results in a different MP and RPM limit. Email their tech support. (Sorry, mine is not for sale) 2 Quote

oregon87 Posted July 22, 2020 Report Posted July 22, 2020 I'm here! Previous post is correct in that we will re-configure the instrument for $125.00, plus shipping. Included in that, we will make sure the instrument is calibrated, operating properly and will include a return to service tag. Additionally, the STC is available at no charge on our website.
