co2bruce Posted September 26, 2011 Report Posted September 26, 2011 I'm not sure what to make of this but I called Mooney about 10 days ago and left a message for customer service to call me back. I had not received a call back as of this morning so I e-mailed support. Still nothing, so I called back this afternoon and spoke to the operator who asked me what my issue was, and told me they would relay my message to the supervisor of that department. Still nothing?? I guess there isn't going to be much support from the mothership. I hope they are still a viable organization for all our sakes. Quote
fantom Posted September 26, 2011 Report Posted September 26, 2011 If accurate, will make MAPA convention next month interesting. Quote
Parker_Woodruff Posted September 27, 2011 Report Posted September 27, 2011 Well, I do know they brought back another guy to make parts that require sheet metal and stamps...that's one piece of positive news... Quote
roundout Posted September 27, 2011 Report Posted September 27, 2011 Believe me, there is no one that loves these airplanes more than me....... I'm on my 3rd one. I just pray they stay in business. Quote
roundout Posted September 27, 2011 Report Posted September 27, 2011 Thats not me!!!!! AGH Im logged in as someone else SORRY. Quote
co2bruce Posted September 27, 2011 Author Report Posted September 27, 2011 still no response, or callback, or e-mail. ?????? Quote
KSMooniac Posted September 27, 2011 Report Posted September 27, 2011 Did you leave a specific request, or just ask them to call you? You might have better luck calling an MSC for help, I'm afraid. They might be able to answer a question, procure a part, or as a last ditch perhaps help you contact someone at the factory. Quote
mooneygirl Posted September 27, 2011 Report Posted September 27, 2011 When I asked about a part recently, I received this auto-reply email: I am out currently of the Office and will resume normal business on Monday Sept 26. For all AOG support please email technicalsupport@mooney.com and a Technical Support representative will be in contact with you.To order parts or questions concerning orders please email serviceparts@mooney.com or contact one of our Authorized Mooney Service Centers located on our website at www.mooney.com.Thank You,Frank CrawfordService Parts/Technical Publications Dept.Mooney Airplane Company So perhaps Frank is just backlogged. I hope you receive an answer soon. Jolie Quote
MooneyMitch Posted September 27, 2011 Report Posted September 27, 2011 Call Mooney and ask for Stacey Ellis. He will contact you right away. That has been my experience. Quote
DrBill Posted September 27, 2011 Report Posted September 27, 2011 On 8/9 I sent an email to them about the flash drive with the technical docs. Frank replied to me the next day. I"ve yet to order them but I will in the near future. Quote
richardheitzman Posted September 28, 2011 Report Posted September 28, 2011 Frank and Stacey are doing what they can to stay on top of things. You will get a better response from calling a MSC then trying to call factory direct. They are short staffed, and really busy. There are over 60 MSC's that can answer your questions, order your parts etc. Those service centers are also calling in to Stacey and Frank to take care of thier customers. So pick a service center and stick with them. You didn't say what you were calling about. Take a look at the priority and see if you can get resolution through the service network instead of getting frustrated at two guys taking care of 7000 owners. right? Quote
co2bruce Posted September 28, 2011 Author Report Posted September 28, 2011 Stacey is the guy I left the messages for. I have already spoken to my MSC and I believe my issue is resolved.( I certainly can not wait 2 weeks for a response to call) My question involved the fuel tanks and the way they are piped to the engine. I thought I would rather hear it from the manufacturer than a mechanic. I'm not saying my questions or issues are more or less important than 7000 other owners, but as a business person myself I think a phone call or e-mail stating they will get back to me when they have time is not too much to ask. You can defend them all you want but I think i'm right in this instance. Quote
Parker_Woodruff Posted September 28, 2011 Report Posted September 28, 2011 No offense, but I think this is a question that a competent Mooney A&P can answer for you. If they don't know, they can look in the manual. I think your chances of getting an accurate response in a timely manner are best through an MSC. Unless this is a technical problem, I really don't see the need to call the factory. Continental fuel systems are more or less the same from airframe to airframe. Quote
FAST FLIGHT OPTIONS LLC Posted September 28, 2011 Report Posted September 28, 2011 Suppose I own a business that depends on a particular customer base and that customer base can’t communicate with me then the actual question really becomes irrelevant. It’s not a matter of whether the customer could find the answer elsewhere… hell you could get the answer to most Mooney questions on this forum. It then becomes an issue of customer service. In this day and age crappy customer service could mean the ultimate demise of a company in my opinion….regardless of how well manufactured the product is J Quote

co2bruce Posted September 28, 2011 Author Report Posted September 28, 2011 I'm sorry, I didn't mean to start any trouble, I was just venting. I love Mooney's, (hell I'm flying my 3rd one), I was just a little disappointed with the response. Let move on. Quote

FAST FLIGHT OPTIONS LLC Posted September 28, 2011 Report Posted September 28, 2011 At the end of the day, Mooney is short-staffed and trying to maintain a type certificate, parts orders, accounting, etc. I don't like it either. I like Mooneys and will try to fly them as long as they are fairly well supported. I'll take my customer support issues to someone authorized to represent the factory. Isn't that the point of the factory "Authorizing" Service Centers? They're supposed to be the experts. In my case, that's Don Maxwell or Dugosh. Quote
Parker_Woodruff Posted September 28, 2011 Report Posted September 28, 2011 If I want to be heard at the factory, especially these days, I'm going to have the most reputable people calling Stacey and all the others on my behalf. Calling the factory isn't going to get you a better shot at getting a part than getting it thru an MSC. It's the unfortunate reality. When I lived in Kerrville, you could see a couple unfinished Acclaims poking their noses/tails out the factory hangar doors. At least the factory service center was operating. Now, there's just some parts being made, slowly Quote
David Mazer Posted September 28, 2011 Report Posted September 28, 2011 I can't imagine how Mooney can survive if they aren't producing parts, aren't performing service, and certainly aren't producing new airplanes. From where do they expect the rebirth to come ? I agree that calling the factory would be nice in some cases and that an MSC can answer most of the questions and it would be nice if the factory would/could respond to customer requests but unless they find some new funding and start acting like an organization providing some useful function, I think they are toast. We better get use to calling those that actually may be able to help us since Mooney apparently cannot. It is a shame. We have a great airplane and to think no more will be built is a little depressing. I've been thinking the factory might do well to back up some and start manufacturing the J again but what do I know. Quote
Parker_Woodruff Posted September 28, 2011 Report Posted September 28, 2011 The factory is making parts...and they just brought back another guy to do some work making gear doors and other parts that take similar input to produce. Quote

jetdriven Posted September 29, 2011 Report Posted September 29, 2011 For about the same cost to manufacture a J, they can build an Ovation. They can't cover costs at 300K, and there is no market for a 500K J. This topic has been beaten to death. The sun rises in the east. Gravity is a reality. The earth is round. And there is no markert for 500K$ Mooney M20J. Quote
docket Posted September 29, 2011 Report Posted September 29, 2011 I want a new Mooney with pressurization and a PT 6. Quote
