In my new (to me) hangar I found a nice set of clecos and a holder. Problem is, very dirty, a little rust. They all work though.

Any suggestions on cleaning and lubing them? Soak in simple green? Spray with WD-40? Give them to wifey for a spin in the washer?1185254378_clecopanel.thumb.jpg.9d51331e92623de956abcb8383e58cfa.jpg

What kind of socks or shoes are you wearing????

Not socks, shoes. Vibram Five Fingers. Incredible rudder feel in them.

For an even better rudder feel fly barefoot! I do it all the time. its better than trying to fly with flip flops.

You could stickit in your tow bar hole.  But why?

Does it keep the virus away?

Somehow I just knew someone would go 'cockpit humor' on this. It does evoke a notion of some sort of bizarre chastity device, no?

That said, it took me quite a while to figure out what it was. Also, we're not talking about the towbar, that's for a Piper, the PO had one.

@HRM, I'll bite....what is it?

Windsock frame. I discovered that I inherited one of the two socks on the field.

Now I see the frame.  That’s a rather flimsy one though.  It would not survive the winds of a Chicago area winter.
Who am I kidding, it would be stolen well before winter......

Must have been an odd Piper to use a Cessna tow bar!
