OR75 Posted February 25, 2020 Report Posted February 25, 2020 If the unit was working in your plane , the voltage should be the voltage of your plane or what am I missing 1 Quote
carusoam Posted February 25, 2020 Report Posted February 25, 2020 let’s ask @Alan Fox how to tell if your KX155 can be saved or replaced... Some panels have step down transformers for some avionics... others used a calibrated resistor to the voltage in half... So a 24V plane may be running some 12V avionics...my ‘94 O has a 12V BK transponder... Some avionics we’re slow to adopt the 24V new standard... the updated BK 76C was also 12V... Pull the box from the panel, it should be clearly labeled... If it says 12/24 on it... it may have two separate supply connections... make sure you have the wiring diagram/pin outs... You can only let the smoke out once... If the smoke escapes, a Alan fox has a method of putting it back in... Since you have an M20E... expect everything to be 12V... unless somebody put a step up transformer in... PP thoughts only, not an electronics guy... Alan is our friendly neighborhood experienced avionics seller... Best regards, -a- Quote
