lithium366 Posted July 11, 2019 Report Posted July 11, 2019 Apparently I realized my Mooney had more space than I thought I pulled out old ADF (I prefer music from my phone) and now I think of what needs to be done to turn that hole into a gloves compartment... Should I recalculate weight and balance? Remove tray or just make some insert? Anyone did a similar “upgrade”?

Yes, we removed the old tray and made this out of riveted aluminum panels. It's quite deep. When painting the face plate, we didn't wait long enough between coats and the paint reacted and cracked a bit. Just need to take it out, sand, and repaint and I'll be happy
