FYI...We have had many flat tires at KGRB as a result of these wire bristles that they are using on the ramps taxiways and runways.

It will put a pin hole in your tire and you will slowly loose air. A Cessna and a Seneca last week. Airport director not resolving problem. (Not interested) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciate. The FOD is so prevalent birds make nests out of it. I punctured a tire in July from last year's bristles.Thank god it happened as I was taxiing back to hanger and not taking off. The airport doesn't believe the FOD is the problem since it is not present in the tire after the flat. How else do you get a flat tire on a relatively new tire. In the AIR!!!!!

Who do you think I should contact for help?

Thank you

ask them to put a magnet across the front of their check the runway truck.  I have seen them doing that on the highways around houston.

Get the local station manager for a major air carrier to complain.  (Assuming they get flats too...of course.  Otherwise, he/she won't care.)

An FOD sweeper that is leaving FOD in its wake would be bad...

One that is generating its own FOD would be crazy...

One that is generating its own FOD that can be traced back to the sweeper would get very expensive, quickly.

picture these curly wires getting sucked into a jet engine for example...

It would be a good idea for the owner of the sweeper to find out why the brush is falling apart, no?

Best regards,
