I suppose you are talking about all the eyebrow things on the panel.  Its actually not all that bright...  could barely read MP at night the other day.  had to use my flashlight.  Im not even sure they are doing anything.  Its on my list of things to check/fix.  The list is getting longer but nothing to painful yet!

20ish takeoffs and im just starting to keep it flat when putting the gear up.  Its different but I like it.  And those cheaper annuals...

Are those eyebrow things perhaps on a separate switch or dimmer?  I have the really old red flashlights on my ceiling.  I can see my instruments, but only a few at a time.  I saw a LED replacement for the bulbs mentioned previously on here, but haven't gotten to that small of a squawk yet.

I haven't counted how many t/l I had to have before I was comfortable with the johnson bar, but now I love it.  I love its simplicity.  The Annuals don't hurt either.

if they are on a dimmer or switch i havent found it yet.  I have those red spot light things in the ceiling as well but they are so flimsy im scared to touch them.  They sort of point at the panel  

Im going on a night flight tonight with my instructor so ill have some time to fiddle with the lights.

The original wiring diagram is in your POH.  I believe you may have a dimmer knob on the ceiling.  LEDs are probably not original equipment so you might find some interesting wiring.

There is a post under the instrument panel that all the dimmable lights are connected to, by the pilots legs.

following that, older LEDs don't dim very well with a regular dimmer.  But, a single regular bulb in line with the LEDs works magic...

When you go all LED lights there is a dimmer specific to that set-up...

PP ideas, not a mechanic...

My dimmer was a rheostat on the ceiling.  I still have spots on the overhead rheostat.  Went with Nu-Lites on six pack and they have a separate dimmer on panel.

the dimmer on the ceiling on mine only dims the 2 red spotlight things right beside it. 

I did see a light under the panel by the pilots legs but the bulb must be out because it doesnt work.

I have two ceiling rheo's.  One was on and intensity for spots.  Second was panel light intensity with old individual panel lights.

Are you familiar with the twisting Iris that is used on the gear up/down lights?  The one under the panel might have the same twisting Iris. It adjusts the amount of light that is emitted by the bulb.
