They are getting pretty annoying. Over at Beechtalk they have a few human verification methods in order to sign up. I much rather be on Mooneyspace though. Just without the Russian bot posts.

Perhaps this is Putin's way of getting back at the U.S.

Sorry, my friend, but these automated translations don't work well.  That first phrase in Russian that you probably translated from English with some Google translator is sort of nonsense (second part is all right)  If you ever want a translation from/to Russian, let me know. I might be the only person of Russian origin  here who owns Mooney although I am not 100% sure :D

Below is the correct text in Russian:

Если вы не можете победить их, то присоединитесь к ним ! Вы, американцы,куча слабаков.

If you can't beat them join them!

FAA would frown at your love for vodka. As to the Russian women, one has to prove to the world that he is not a wimp to have one

I do like my Russian vodka and women lol

gentlemen,

I saw four more so called "Russian posts" today, and, having analyzed them, I can state with 99.9% confidence that Russians have nothing to do with this.  First of all, these are "horoscope" messages with the link that will download a Trojan to your PC or take you to some dubious site at best. Secondly, the text only appears Russian: in reality, it is an auto translation from some English or other language page made with very poor quality software translator: this translator only translates words, but not phrases. I saw these when the online translators were in their infancy, somewhere in mid 90's. As a result of such translation, words are translated but they are not interconnected logically, so the whole text is a complete gibberish. Being a member of several Russian forums, I can tell that Russian bots use logical and readable text in Russian, with viral link inserted in it. So, why would Russian hackers bother with picking some English horoscope text, autotranslating it to Russian and publishing here? It would have been much easier for them to copy paste text from any Russian horoscope page, or any page in Russian, there are thousands of them. The reason is simple: the guy who publishes this wants you to believe that he is Russian because very few people here have the ability to read the language, but most of us here can recognize Cyrillic alphabet.

I am not sure if adding capcha  or another form of authentication would help; chances are, this jerk indeed obtained the membership here and publishes his crap manually.

Since we are all pilots here, and therefore, safety is what we live by, I am sure that none of us here will be careless enough to click on the link in these messages. And if you do, prepare for the PC overhaul....

They're google bots. Admin needs to add a human verification code to the signup

These are not Google bots.  This is commonly called comment spam. Who is the admin on this site? I can help with this.

Hi GSXR!

Mooniac58 is the admin. His name is Craig.

It won't be widely accepted, but is there a way to have a small fee added for each new member? Say a dollar etc... This way it might be one extra step to provide security on the site. Or some Blurred words during login.

I road a 97 GSXR 750 for a bit! My buddy had it jetted and had a lot of race components on it. Last of the carbed engines I believe. Awesome machine! A bit scary actually.

Cheers,

-Matt

Hi Matt,

Craig and I are discussing this issue, and I think we've got a solution. I'm working on it anyway.

On the subject of motorcycles, I've had a long string of them, but the GSXR1000 was my favorite. It was an 2006 model and scary fast. I've given up the bikes in favor of airplanes. The wife will ride with me in the Mooney, but she would never get on the bike.

My wife likes to ride on the back of my FZ1 almost as much as being my navigator in our Mooney. When she is on the back it moves the CG back a bit makes the front end work even better making the ride in the twisties even faster she is fearless I would never climb on the back of one of those things. One of my favorites was a hopped up 1983 GS1100E that thing was just stupid fun.
