GIVCAPT Posted September 23, 2014 Report Posted September 23, 2014 Hello all, I'm looking to replace just my floor carpets. My sidewalls are in great good shape but the floors are worn through. I looked at SCS and Airtex but it seems like they only sell complete carpet kits. Does any other compaines just sell certain pieces? I thought about just going to my local interior shop on the field but I'm sure they will be very costly since they do private jet jobs. Thanks in advance Quote
RangerJim Posted September 23, 2014 Report Posted September 23, 2014 I have purchased floor carpets only from Airtex for several different makes and models over the years. Give them a call to get the sample brochure coming your way and discuss your needs. Or go to a local custom car interior shop with your worn pieces as patterns. Airtex sells burn certified carpet by the yard. A recent copy of Trade-a-Plane will turn up several vendors. Wouldn't hurt to at least get a quote from your on field jet shop for comparison purposes. GIVCAPT Posted September 24, 2014 Author Report Posted September 24, 2014 Thanks everyone for all your input. I will check with the local shop first and will also call the other vendors that were recommended here. Quote
Guest Mike261 Posted September 28, 2014 Report Posted September 28, 2014 i got a price from the mooney factory for carpets, just the floor in the front. 713.00 two week lead. pricey but not unexpected. but, I also got a price for the fuel pressure transducer... wait for it... $6443.00 50 week lead time. no joke. mike Quote
John Pleisse Posted September 29, 2014 Report Posted September 29, 2014 That number is erroneous. BMW makes the exact same part, just not approved by the FAA for $89.00. Airtex has your carpets and will ship within a day or two for much less. http://www.airtexinteriors.com/index.php Quote
Guest Mike261 Posted September 30, 2014 Report Posted September 30, 2014 ridiculous maybe, but not erroneous. I've got two emails to prove it. Quote
carusoam Posted September 30, 2014 Report Posted September 30, 2014 Mike, What are you going to do? Best regards, -a- Quote
Guest Mike261 Posted September 30, 2014 Report Posted September 30, 2014 I have no idea. see what the A&P says I guess. maybe go to one of those primary displays. Its really strange, I searched around and people were saying the paid anywhere from 250 on up. I got an initial price of 950 from mooney with no lead time. I replied looking for a lead time and got a corrected price of 6443 and change with a 50 week lead time. There must be a suitable replacement out there, maybe someone on the board knows...im just delving into this, and haven't explored all avenues yet. mike Quote
