There are two high pressure fuel pumps listed as applicable to my airplane with IO360.  One is R00253-501 and the other is LW15473.  What is the functional difference between these and which one is preferred and for what reason?

 

Any comments would be appreciated.

Side note on this topic... My breaker has popped twice on my fuel pump. It hasn't happened again?? Is this a precursor to a failing pump? Thanks. Troy

The -3 lyc pump is engine driven for the fuel injection engines. The -2 pump is for carbed engines and the pressure is different...long story with a Great Lakes.

All accessory shops I've talked with highly recommend the factory LYC pump vs Tempest or other aftermarkets available.

Troy- could be the beaker. Is it the type that has the switch on it or is it a separate CB? On My switches, a few of them appear to be getting "soft" the electric dukes pump has a 10yr service life. Much debate here on Weldon and Dukes F. Pumps. Until my Dukes quits I'll be happy with it.
