Thanks for the reply. Didn’t know the prop needs to turn faster at higher altitudes. Living under the dfw class B keeps me low alt for hamburger runs. Only when I go away from the area for more than an hour’s flight do I get to climb to any kind of altitude and I haven’t done that since I bought the plane and flew it home. I’m really looking into the surefly electronic ignition if only for the better burn rate from the hotter and longer spark duration compared to the mag as I would assume from the reading I’ve done this would complete more of the burn before the exhaust valve opened dumping it into the turbo. I’m assuming this is why I get cooler tit temps when I reduce the prop rpm giving the ignited mixture more time to burn in the cylinder before the exhaust valve opens to vent it to the turbo.
