Danb Posted December 7, 2013 Report Posted December 7, 2013 Guys being bored flying home from west coast I purchased in flight wi fi, also put foreflight on for the hell of it..1st time it has worked for me sitting in 4a going 576 knots at 32000 feet and watching if the captain can stay on J 102. If he gets lost I'll lend him the IPad. Rather be in my mooney having fun...Dan 2
PAMooney Posted December 7, 2013 Report Posted December 7, 2013 Yeap, i'd rather be in my Mooney at 155 than the back of the bus at 576 any day. Of course seat 4a isn't too bad!
Shadrach Posted December 7, 2013 Report Posted December 7, 2013 Thank you for flying US Scareways! Looks like you picked up 10 knots... No precip until central Ohio, but then you know all of this if you're running foreflight. Safe travels...
orionflt Posted December 7, 2013 Report Posted December 7, 2013 Used my fore flight on a trip to Reno, didn't have wifi, but I did pick up satellites with my internal gps. Worked great until I ran out of maps.....didn't down load the full US before the trip. 1
kmyfm20s Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 I have never had luck with my Fore Flight on any commercial flight or WingX. I figured it was the pressurization of the cabin and I would need a external GPS even though I was sitting next to a window. Is this the case?
N201MKTurbo Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 I do it all the time using my Dual XGPS150. It works great until it gets above FL380 then it just quits. I downloaded a firmware patch that was supposed to fix that, but it is still intermittent up high. It works great in the Mooney....
