nels Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 OK, two problems that I have encountered. 1st - when I put my gear down (manual gear) at the numbers, I seem to unlock my seat belt and it comes off. I don't realize this until I am on the ground (a little late if I ever have a problem landing). It happens about half the time. Anyway, does anyone else have the same problem, and if you do, what have you done to solve this little issue. I'm not sure if it would help but you might try reversing the seat belt mount so buckle is in the other direction. I also own a 66E model and I am based at Lunken. I've owned it about two years but just started flying it last week. It's also my first retractable experience and the first time I've flown in thirty years. I must say, I do like the plane. I can't make any worthwhile comments as far as performance, economy etc but I will say they are fast and they love to fly and that includes when you try to get them back on the runway. I might know an instructor at Lunken if that helps. He owns a 201. 1 Quote

This is easy to do but only if you do not have a shoulder belt. And if you do not have a shoulder belt you probably will want to. Quote
Hedge Posted October 31, 2013 Author Report Posted October 31, 2013 That would be awesome. Glad to hear another Mooney guy in Cincy. Maybe we can hook up for a beer after flying. Quote

I have the shoulder belt, but I will see if i can do something like this. Always simple solutions Quote
Hedge Posted October 31, 2013 Author Report Posted October 31, 2013 Do you not have an Approved Aircraft Flight Manual (AFM)? I believe it is required to be in the plane by FAR 91.9.The official w&B should be in it. www.flightsimaviation.com/data/FARS/part_91-9.html i know, I just trying to figure out a legal way to comply.
