Hi I am looking for a strobe tube for a 20J, P/N 202814-5, it would have been found on any 20J serial 24-0024 until 24-1037 per the parts manual. Looking for anyone who upgraded to LED and would still have the old ones laying around for sale.

Removed this set of Hoskins strobes complete with power supplies and the navigation lights and wing tip holders. These were moved from my 201 M20J. Please NOTE: Only One strobe light works. Both nav lights and one strobe were working when I replaced them with new Orion LED units. Asking $200 US and will ship to US or Canada Steve sdawson630@gmail.com

Went to fly Saturday and found my strobe nonfunctional. Due to my ham-handed wrenching the navigation light quickly joined it, the red glass cover is in pieces. I thought the strobe might come out like a regular bulb, but of course not! So how do you remove a thing like this and where do ai source new ones?

Latest issue on my new-to-me '78 J is the left wing strobe. A&P confirmed the Hoskins power supply is still good, but the flash tube is bad. P/N 202814-5. I've been having a hard time trying to track down a replacement. Has anyone had to replace this flash tube, and if so, what did you use? I have a flat wing tip, like the earlier models. I saw the previous posts on the subject, but I think those related to the enclosed strobes used on the later wing tip style. I'd like to get a few years out of the current system, before swapping out for LEDs. Trying to keep the cash flow under control this first year; I'm expecting an expensive first annual There's a whelen product (a610?) and an aeroflash (073-0141, or maybe 073-0270?) that look like good candidates.

This right wing (green) Hoskins P/N 202144-2 nav/stobe unit including bulbs and Aeroflash 152-0007 power supply (top picture) was installed on my plane 3 years ago and working perfectly when removed to install LEDs a couple weeks ago. $160 + ship. If you want, I will throw in the much older left nav/strobe unit (red) and tail light for free (bottom pic). The strobe on the left was weak and working only intermittently - I don't know which component was defective but suspect it's the power supply. Use that one for spare parts if you like, including swapping the red lens to the other unit if needed, or just use the two extra working nav bulbs.

Strobe Power Supply is Dead...Suggestions
deltchief posted a topic in Vintage Mooneys (pre-J models)
New member owner of 62 M20C. Power supply to wingtip strobes is dead. Anyone have an extra laying around for sale or any options on a reasonable conversion to LED? Thanks -
We have a 1980 J and need a replacement strobe light bulb. It's a Hoskins unit with a Whelen replacement bulb. Are there any less expensive replacement bulbs out there? Thanks, Tim Percarpio N97136

Whelen Strobe Power Supply For Sale -- SOLD
Jerry 5TJ posted a topic in Avionics / Parts Classifieds
Whelen Strobe Power Supply--- SOLD Model HDHCF A413AHDA-CF-14/28 Removed from my M20R last week while trouble-shooting inoperative wing tip strobe. The problem turned out to be arcing in a connector. This power supply works perfectly; I can't return the new one and don't need a spare. -
Sold , was: Here is the next item, it is a Whelen A650-PR wing position light (red cover) and strobe. 28V position light bulb (Whelen p/n W1290-28), but you could change the position light bulb assembly to a 12V (W1290-14, ~$39 new) if needed for a 12V airplane. These are $314 new, a salvage yard will charge you $200, how about the first $149 $99 takes it, plus shipping. USPS Priority can get it there for just under $14. Or, will part out, also have a left A650 with good parts.

OK guys, up for sale ::SOLD:: s a Whelen A500 tail light/strobe with an included 28V incandescent position light bulb (Whelen p/n A510-28) , if you have a 12V airplane you could put in a 12v tail light bulb (p/n A510-12, they are ~$32) if needed. Of course the strobe tube takes the high voltage flash from your power supply so they work with either 12V or 28V systems. These are normally $221 new and salvage yards will charge you $125 or so, how about $99 OBO, plus shipping. These can go via USPS Priority medium flat rate box for $13.95 anywhere in the US.

I have Whelen A650 strobe/nav lights which appear to be replaced directly with Whelen 71110, anyone done this and is it just as simple as unscrewing the old one off and screwing the new one on? Appears to be from reading. What I can't figure out is what I have for a position light in the tail (67 M20F). It looks like Whelen 71554 replaces it but not positive and unsure what the difference is between horizontal and vertical mounting. It has Cessna for the vertical so assuming I need a horizontal? Appreciate input!

Today as we annualed my 65E we discovered no Port or Tail Strobe except a single flash on system power down. The Starboard worked initially and then joined the others. Suspect common cause. The single, fuselage mounted, Whelen Power Supply is an A413A HDA-DF-14. Whelen says they no longer make or repair this unit. They suggest replace with a CF-14. Looks like close to a thousand $ to replace. Probably just Capacitors. Any suggestions on someone to rebuild/repair. A type and source for capacitors. Or a source for a servicable unit.

I have a '79 M20K with Hoskins Nav and Strobe lights. The power supply and the light/base (PN 7839) are both bad on one wing. It appears that I have three options: Replace the bad power supply ($300) and HOPE that I can find a Hoskins PN 7839 light/base. (see attached picture) So far no luck on the light/base. Convert the bad power supply ($300) and light/base ($250) to Whelan which requires a 337 Convert everything including NAV lights to LED of which there are two options, both TSO'd and do not require the 337 Aeroled, Pulsar model (1080-b/c) for $1190 which includes the tail position light http://www.aeroleds.com/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=VgPG5vCTuB4%3d&tabid=6270&mid=13206 AVEO, Ultragalactical model for $1,200 http://www.aveogroup.com/aveo-shop/galactica-c-series/68-ultra-embedded-wing-set-of-2-green-and-red-with-white.html Any recent experience with any of these options?
