  1. Removed this set of Hoskins strobes complete with power supplies and the navigation lights and wing tip holders. These were moved from my 201 M20J. Please NOTE: Only One strobe light works. Both nav lights and one strobe were working when I replaced them with new Orion LED units. Asking $200 US and will ship to US or Canada Steve sdawson630@gmail.com
  2. With the gauges on the wings and in the cockpit near zero, my M20K never takes more fuel then 50 gallons at the pump. The capacity is 76 gallons so I always land with way more fuel on board then I think. Yesterday I pushed my flight a little longer with the gauges uncomfortably reading 1 gallon and both the low fuel annunciators burning, yet the calculated landing fuel on board was 18 gallons. She took 60 gallons this time, so I guess the calculated fuel on board wins. Some uneasy flying tho. I refueled with the nose a little higher then on a completely level surface. Does that impact the amount of fuel I can add to the tanks? When refueling, the fuel gets up to those ‘anti-siphon’ doors easily. But then the topping up starts. This seems it could go on endlessly, if I just rock the wings a little back and forth. When do you guys say, this is full? I always fly with a big fuel margin, but to never use about one third of the fuel on board is silly, so I thought I’d dig in and see if it was really there. And it was. I stayed close to the airport by the way. Good to get to know the aircraft a little better again. It was a sad day for flying, last weekend we lost three young dutch glider pilots in two separate accidents. I started out flying gliders and I heard the ELT blaring on the 121.5 from the last crash, gave me the shivers. Stay safe!
  3. I have a '79 M20K with Hoskins Nav and Strobe lights. The power supply and the light/base (PN 7839) are both bad on one wing. It appears that I have three options: Replace the bad power supply ($300) and HOPE that I can find a Hoskins PN 7839 light/base. (see attached picture) So far no luck on the light/base. Convert the bad power supply ($300) and light/base ($250) to Whelan which requires a 337 Convert everything including NAV lights to LED of which there are two options, both TSO'd and do not require the 337 Aeroled, Pulsar model (1080-b/c) for $1190 which includes the tail position light http://www.aeroleds.com/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=VgPG5vCTuB4%3d&tabid=6270&mid=13206 AVEO, Ultragalactical model for $1,200 http://www.aveogroup.com/aveo-shop/galactica-c-series/68-ultra-embedded-wing-set-of-2-green-and-red-with-white.html Any recent experience with any of these options?
  4. My Hoskins fuel flow isn't displaying the fuel flow. It just reads "2222". The JPI displays fine from the same transducer. There doesnt appear to be any troubleshooting to the display in the manual. It looks Instrument tech in Texas deals with these FT 101A displays. Has anyone else had any issues like this? Has anyone used Instrument Tech for repairs?
