  1. Nice setup!
  2. Useful weight, parachute would give piece of mind to new buyers (ie Cirrus). Electronic ignition would be great. Modern interior design and ergonomic panel... The end the interior of a 600 k+ airplane should look more like the interior of high end BMW (lights, climate control, comfortable leather seats), than that of a cheap VW.
  3. Mine are also angled.
  4. Well to add to the debate. I have the bladders since I bought the plane in 2002 and added the additional 10 Gal in 2014. I love the feeling that I have that additional hour available. This allows me to fly non stop St Louis to KGAi... 4.45 hours... without getting too nervous about fuel. Now, do i always fuel up the plane with the 64 gal? No, I try to keep around 50 gallons in the tank unless I have to do a long cross country, like Boston or St Louis. Oscar
  5. Interesting points about the cracks. I raised it when I bought the cowling and I was told that they had changed the installation procedure to address the issue... Let's see how it goes. Oscar
  6. I am also looking at the G5 to get rid of the my AT and the stand by system. May be a way around this is that the G5 is the primary... and the ASPENs the back up... Oscar
  7. II installed an ARI Cowling mod (There was a discussion in Feb 2010 on this subject). https://aeroresourcesinc.com/proj98-ci/WebContent/product_category/view/9 I like it, the quality of the mod is good, the manufacturer is extremely responsive and it is easy to install. Now, in terms of speed gains, I have not tested and time everything out, but given that the CHTs are more manageable I can push the engine harder... Oscar
  8. I ordered some too. But how do you get the text on them? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. one additional question: What does it take to change from a three blade to a two blade?
  10. it seems that I will need to get a new prop... So I am looking for a replacement for my three blade McCauley. Any suggestions, ideas? Considering what it may cost me.. I would like to get something efficient and effective... (are those the right words???)...Changing from three to two blades will be most likely expensive? So let's open a discussion... I am all ears!
  11. Will do!
  12. Always sad to hear these news... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I just decided that I wanted to have only one vehicle...so my license plate is my N number Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Let me get to the airport this week and take a pic. I use a contour camera. http://contour.com/ their form makes it make easier to attach them to the fuselage of the plane. However, their battery life is rather short (1,5 hours). For the interior, wing and belly I use the Garmin VIRBs. They are rugged and have a good battery life (2 to 3 hours). For editing I use Final Cut.
  15. Easily, that's why I have my back ups ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I caught a cold from my 6 year old.. thus I had to stay at home for the last three days. Not much to do about it. So I decided to edit some of the footage from some flights I made during the last two months. So here goes another one (longer than usual) but the scenery was so nice that I could not cut it... hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed my early morning flight out of St Louis.
  17. Before I installed my 650 I used the 430 for traffic and the 796 for navigation.
  18. Yeah... not happy camper on that subject.
  19. Don't touch that subject please! The short answer is yes.
  20. Well my new videos are not as exotic as they were before, but the scenery is still nice.
  21. I installed an AOA Alpha System. I use it and I really like it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I used a grass strip for the last four years. As long as you used the proper technique it was just fine. Our gear is rugged and takes a lot, as long as the strip is relatively smooth. Actually some of my nicest landing were on a grass strip.
