  1. speed mods made to the J + Horse Power has to add to your efficiency. If that's not what you referring to... maybe you're right.
  2. Man I love looking at these pictures... There's nothing like Plane Porn!
  3. It's amazing what an additional 20 hp will provide...
  4. I use Chrome as well... sounds like its just me.
  5. I do... That works great... It's when using any of the internet browsers is where I see issues.
  6. Over the last couple of days I've started having all kinds of pop-up and display issues with MS. Am I the only one? Also, for some reason I can't upload pictures anymore.
  7. Just curious, why wouldn't you just stay with X/C 20W50 year round?
  8. Might shoot Don Maxwell an email and ask him... Seems like I had some slop in my flaps and he made a couple of adjustments to fix them.
  9. +1... Same here
  10. My nav/com radio is a RST-572 from Radio Systems Technology. It was actually a really fun project. You built it and then sent it back to them to be bench tested. By today's standards it's huge. You have thumb switches to select the frequency and OBS and the VOR head is just a left/right meter needle.
  11. I'll post some pictures in the gallery when I get a chance. All my pictures are pretty dated so I'll need to take some current pictures next time I'm at the hangar. Basically, it's a plans built WAR P47D. Started the project back when there wasn't such a thing as kits so I had to fabricate EVERYTHING. Believe it or not I actually built the radio back with they allowed that. There was a company selling kits much like Heathkits if anyone remembers those. Seems Like I've worked on it much of my adult life.
  12. Prior to owning a plane, I was big in the EAA. In fact, in addition to my Mooney, I built a 1/2 scale P47D that's waiting paint and an engine overall. I've found attending EAA meetings and fly-in's are a good way to enjoy aviation on the social side without actually flying. Also, I know building a aircraft isn't for everyone but there's nothing like the satisfaction you get from riveting up a rudder or some other component to the plane. It's also realitively inexpensive (until you get to the engine and avionics) way to stay connected to aviation. Projects are bought and sold all the time so don't feel you'd have to complete it. There's many ways to scratch that aviation itch... Owning an aircraft is only one.
  13. Rainman - Actually I'm 6' and where the seat is positioned for me, that pocket is located perfectly for full access.
  14. Coming from the tail dragged world I find myself naturally doing slips on final. I have found out that passengers find slips a bit uncomfortable so I generally crab with passengers.
  15. Same here.... Love the product but not at the price he's asking. He's asking Foreflight/Garmin Pilot prices for a simple app... I'm out.
  16. For reference, here's a picture of my yokes after being recovered by Aero Comfort.... http://mooneyspace.com/gallery/image/34723-/
