  1. I stoped at Kulusuk in my Encore on the way to Europe a couple years back. Landing was easy and staff was super nice as I recall. Read about it here: www.n97nm.com
  2. On my last flight I noticed the OAT, Wind speed/direction, and TAS readouts on my GPS (GNS 480) all showed ---. What does this point to as the source of the problem? I assume there's an air data sensor unit of some kind that must have failed or become disconnected? I've recently moved to Europe with my Encore so I want to be more proactive with understanding maintenance issues before going to a mechanic.
  3. Thanks for all the comments regarding the fuel senders. Sounds like this is a serious possibility. I've asked them to take a look and I'll report back. Would be great if it's that easy!
  4. OK fair point. Definitely worth checking out thanks
  5. Good call, thanks for the tip. Though if the problem only shows when I'm above 18 gallons in the tank, doesn't this indicate a tank seal issue?
  6. I posted about a fuel smell in my cockpit a while back when I bought my M20K and just have been keeping the right tank below full up until now in order to not have to deal with it. It has worked but all of a sudden recently I can only fill the tank to about 18 gallons before getting wet carpet on the right side of the plane. Time to get this fixed. I did a lot of searching online and in this forum and I see Weep No More in Willmar, MN, WetWingOlogists East in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Propellorhead Aviation in Winter Haven, FL. Wondering if anyone knows a reputable shop a little further north on the east coast? The plane is in South Carolina at the moment and I'd like to stop somewhere on the way back to New York (where I live) to get the tank seal dealt with. I'm open to having it patched vs completely resealed if that's possible.
  7. Cool, when will they be finishing up the work? Would love to hear how it goes
  8. Jewell does indeed seem to be a jewel... Sam is super knowledgeable and helpful. In the end though the price came out about the same as for Triad in NC, so I'm gonna go with Triad given my rapport with Othman and that he seems to have a good relationship with Rich at Executive in Myrtle Beach. Man the costs keep adding up... taking the engine out and putting it back in will be over $5k on top, plus flushing the prop and governor are extra. Talk about stressful. I could buy a Cessna for what this is going to cost
  9. They're actually the ones I was sent to by the local airport guys. I've been speaking with Othman and they're the ones with the initial quote I have. Good to see the thumbs up for them on here.
  10. Ha! The turbo is great. I've taken it over mountains cross country a few times, and I get over 200KTAS in the flight levels drinking 13gph. Thanks for the pointer to Jewell. I'll call them in the morning
