  1. Quote: OR75 no doubt that you get what you pay for (most often than not). however, the question may be what the rest of the aircraft look like . IMHO, it is not worth getting a luxury interior if the rest of the aircraft does not match (paint, avionics, ...)
  2. The fuel selector valve between the pilot's legs looks like it has a plastic over that covers the valve and the sump drain ring. It has screws that holds it in place and looks to be very OEM.
  3. I'm in need of the plastic insert/cover for the the fuel selector on my '65C. A couple of days ago mine broke into a bunch of pieces. If you might have one or know where I can find one, I'd appreciate it.
  4. My '65C is in real need of a new inerior and I know that Aero Comfort is first rate but it also appears that so is their price. I just got a quote fo $11.4K. After this sticker shock, I started looking around and found Las Cruces Aero Interiors. They're quoting $6500. The pictures posted and the description of work looks good. Has anyone had any experience with this shop?
  5. It makes me think that these engines for whatever reason should have a full capacity closer to 6 quarts than 8. Has anyone seen any kind of SB from Lycoming on this issue?
  6. I watched a webinar on oil by Mike Busch and he's not a fan of the oil Seperator. Based on his comments, I am thinking of removing mine. What everyone's thoughts of these devices? Thanks, Gary
  7. I contacted Ralph Semb with Mooney Safety and he said that he's in San Antonio. Not sure if he still leaves in Westlake or not. I'll let you know when I hear from Jerry.
  8. Just ran the plane through AOPA's Valuation program and it came up with a value of $44.7K. So it looks like it's priced right were it should be.
  9. I've reached out to Jerry but he lives in San Antonio now.
  10. Guys - Being relatively new to the Mooney world but looking at those pictures, it looks like the interior is in pretty bad shape. Is that a concern to anyone or is that is relatively inexpensive to repair/replace? Also looks like a plane that might on not been hangared.
  11. Hi All, I'm about to purchase a M20C that will be based out of KDTO in Denton, Texas. Does anyone know if a good CFI in the area that could provide transition training? Thanks, Gary
  12. You might want to think about having your injectors tuned to tighten up your GAMI spread. If you're a member of EAA you might want to watch a nice webinar that Mike Busch with Savvy Aviation did on leaning basics. Here's the link: http://www.eaavideo.org/video.aspx?v=994986557001
  13. Guys, I've been using spreadsheets to track maintenance events (Oil changes, AD's/SB/SI, 337,etc) as well as other flying expenses. I'd like to move it to a software package but I'm not finding much out there that geared toward individuals. There's tons out there for FBO and flight schools but I can't find anything for individuals. AvConnect has ome but they want $50/month. What's everyone else doing? Thanks, Gary
  14. Guys, I'm in the process of purchasing a M20C and will be having an annual performed as part of the purchase. Living in the DFW area, I see that US Aviation is a Mooney Service Center. Does anyone have experience with them and in particular how's the Mooney knowledge? Thanks, Gary
