  1. I also have the 201 window mod. I have a hose attached to the top of the reservoir. I pump the hydralic fluid into the brake caliper down at the wheel until it comes out the hose at the top of the reservoir.
  2. The 8000B is a better unit than the 340. The 8000B has a lot more features. The 8000B is more like the Garmin GMA-350. The biggest difference between the 8000B and the GMA-350 is the 350 has 3D audio and longer playback record time.
  3. Good information here.
  4. I recently had a Garmin GMA-350 and SL-30 installed. The labor was 45 hours. I think the audio panel is the most expensive because it has to be wired to all the other radios and all the headset jacks. Mine required all new wiring harneses to all the radios, jacks and speaker.
  5. I use Plexus on the windows and to remove bugs from cowling and leading edges of wings.
  6. Looks nice!
  7. Nice video.
  8. I'm interested in seeing pictures. I'm planning a similar panel upgrade.
  9. I think a Cessna P210 would be the best choise. There are a lot of nice ones for under 160K. 190kts, pressurised cabin, lots of room, 6 seats, FIKI, 1000 mile range.
  10. Nice picture.
  11. AmigOne- Nice photo, beautiful airplane.
  12. Cape May is an old Navy base and has a airplane museum that is worth seeing. The flight down the Hudson river in NYC and around the Statue of Liberty is also a nice flight.
  13. I have a "B" model (same as the "C") and have no problem with legroom. I'm 5' 10". I found the back seat actually has plenty of room if only one person is setting back there. With 4 people on board I have to adjust my seat (pilot seat) up one notch from where I normally have it adjusted. The Mooney is the smallest plane I have owned and the biggest thing I had to get used to was the smaller cabin width. If you have ever sat in one of the middle coach seats on the airlines. I think the Mooney has about the same room. Except the seats recline more in the Mooney.
  14. I would also do some research on controller.com and trade a plane to find out how much other planes are sailing for and how their equiped. It would give you an idea of how much airplane you can buy on your budget. Sometimes there is not much difference in price between an "F" and a "J".
  15. Also the Garmin GMA-350 has 3D audio that I liked. PS Engineering audio does not have that feature.
  16. I recently installed a new audio panel in my plane. I looked at the PS Engineering 8000B and the new Garmin GMA-350. Both had about the same features. I picked the Garmin because I found it a little easier to use. The Garmin has a dedicated playback button and was easier for me to program the audio inputs and intercom controls. Plus I had the Garmin SL-30 installed at the same time and planning on installing a Garmin GTN-650 in the future and wanted to have everything match. The PS Engineering 8000B is a little cheaper than the Garmin. Both have more features than I will probably use. I tried both units before I made up my mind. Both, the Garmin GMA-350 and the PS Engineering units work very well.
  17. The generator/alternator belt.
  18. I don't think there are very many things the 796 does that the Ipad doesn't do. The only thing I can think of is, that it fits better between the yoke and is easier to see in sunlight.
  19. Mine is still for sale.
  20. I would recommend checking the resistance on the plugs anytime you have them out. I had an interminttent miss in my O-360. Pulled all the plugs, checked them on a spark plug tester. All the plugs checked out good on the tester. Cleaned and gaped them. Reinstalled them and still had a miss. Pulled them out again and measured the resistance and found one of them was over 5000 ohms resistance. Replaced the plug with the high resistance and the miss was gone.
  21. I would like to know that too.
  22. The indicator from a collins 351 nav radio will work and is a lot cheeper than the garmin ind. Also the Mid-Continent MD200-306 CDI works very well with the 430/530,gtn650/750 and SL-30.
  23. In my M20B the POH recomends full flaps for short field take offs. But the "B" model only has a maxium of 20 degrees of flaps.
  24. I would go with the 750 and SL30 with remote audio and txp in a single stack. The money saved by not having a second panel mount gps could buy a JPI730/830, a garmin aera 560, and an ipad with forflight or wingx. A lot more bang for the buck. By the way I just replace my KX-170 with a Garmin GMA-350 and an SL30. I really like the 3D audio and playback of the 350. The SL30 is like having two coms and two navs in one radio. You can listen your active and standby com channels at the same time. The nav has a feature that lets you navigate on your active channel while reading the radial read out on the standby channel. A very handy feature when doing aproaches.
