  1. I used Weep No More four years ago. No leaks since. Mine had been patched/repaired multiple times prior. Very happy with the outcome. They sent photos of all steps of the process.
  2. I think the photo showed this time
  3. Flew the gyro over my neighbor's ranchito and this photo got sent to me. He wants me to land there, but I want to walk the property and get some more hours in the gyro before I land at the ranch. Way fun.
  4. Welcome Sia, I'm in Boerne (5C1) near San Antonio. Very convenient if your parents are on the north side of town. Let me know if I can be of any help or if you just want to meet (T82) for lunch at Fredricksburg (there is a 50s style diner on the field). Also a former skydiver with lots of jumps. Ray
  5. Just get a TBM and save all the development headaches. Again not cheap, but you said fast and turbine.
  6. I do fly up high regularly to Albuquerque. I have two pulse oximetry (cheap and very accurate). I have a built in system and also an emergency bottle. I'll let the anesthesiologists chime in on the magic numbers on the changes from your resting oxygenation at sea level. I will say that having been in the altitude chamber several times taught me that hypoxic people aren't very good at assessing their symptoms. I keep my pulse ox above 90 and that means I monitor often at lower altitudes. Be safe, monitor and use oxygen when needed. Ray
  7. If you can see my gallery, I have several photos detailing how my mower had trailer hitches placed front and back. Ray
  8. Please list me and send me the link. I P.M.'d you but this is plan "B"
  9. Call Delta Aviation in Brighton MI. They are Mooney brokers with lots of planes listed on there website, and Brighton is just west of Detroit. Don't get seduced by all the pretty Ovations and Acclaims they have listed!
  10. Texas Hill country to Michigan a couple of times per year. San Antonio to Albuquerque every couple of months. We take our dog in the plane. Honestly, the 3-3.5 hours of flying to KAEG beats the 11 hour car trip and really makes short trips of a couple of days even possible. The Mooney fits my mission perfectly for now.
  11. I'm on the list for a Raptor aircraft. It will be a pressurized version based on a Velocity using an Audi twin turbo diesel engine. The prototype construction can be. viewed at the raptor aircraft website. Can you wait a few years? Jet fuel, 220 kts. Ve
  12. I converted this old lawn mower five years ago, still going great. My mower guy put on the frames and hitches for about $100. Ray
  13. I am a recently retired periodontist who spent much of my career teaching in dental residencies. Peter, Rbridges, and Kerry, have given you good advice. Talk to your dentist about the plan so that you understand how it may, or may not, make sense depending on your specific situation. Ray
  14. There are no set amount of hours required for licensed pilots. Just need an instructor to sign you off as ready for a check ride, then pass the check ride for the gyro endorsement. My instructor estimates about 10 hours usually for sport pilot endorsement, a few more for private if you want fly at night. His advise is to train in whatever you plan on flying as different models have differing handling characteristics. Mine is by AutoGyro the company building more each year than any other company in the world. My Calidus model is an experimental, but as of last month, you can get a certified version which will allow for commercial use, rental, etc.
  15. Gee Doc, I thought this would be the year I could do the clinic. But I won't be back until the day it ends☹️. Hopefully next year. Ray
  16. I live near Dugosh, and David is still there running the shop, now as part owner. So our planes are in good hands there. I do however like the idea of having Maxwell do the pre-buy inspection just because a fresh set of eyes can sometimes see things that have been missed. Also, since you're close to him, he would be able to follow up on non-airworthiness things and do your annuals down the road if you purchase the plane.
  17. The gyro is a blast to fly and the STOL capability is amazing. Just a word of caution, the insurance cost is 4-6 times the cost of a SEL aircraft per $1K of valuation. This is because the gyro is considered a rotorcraft and is insured like a helicopter. The good news is that south central Texas is becoming a hot bed of modern gyro flying with several instructors near Austin (Taylor) and San Antonio (Hondo). This could get $100 hamburger flying back down to $100. My gyro has a 450-500 mile range and burns unleaded auto gas in the Rotax engine at 4-6 gal/hr.
  18. gyro is VFR only. We got a late morning start because of low ceilings, then ran into weather as we approached the mountains west of Lynchburg Virginia. We didn't want to have ourselves and the gyro stuck for perhaps several days, so we returned to W29. When the weather calms down, my instructor will fly it out. Ray
  19. Got to Lynchburg and hit weather. Returned to Maryland. Gyro is still there.
  20. Here is the gyro I got for Christmas.
  21. I'm flying Southwest to BWI tomorrow and will fly the gyro home starting Wednesday or Thursday based on the weather. Should be fun!
  22. This is the one I still use to tow my plane. Deck removed, trailer balls front and back installed. Rotate the photo in your mind. This and other photos are in my gallery. Ray
  23. It's still listed on Barnstormer's. It's the red 2013 with 102 hrs in Maryland. I'm planning when to fly it back to Texas as we speak!
  24. Mike, nice video and music. I flew from Albuquerque to San Antonio Christmas Day. Couldn't go up high because we had our dog in the plane, and she still won't wear her oxygen mask! Bumpy and strong headwinds, but still way better than a 12 hour car trip.
