  1. No, not really. Just from comparing the available area of both inlets I thought it might be beneficial as nearly half of the right side is covered. A look in the parts catalog made me think about it as it doesnˋt look very complicated - and it is just a evolution of the samy type certificate ...
  2. Does anybody know if there is a way to install a 252 aircleaner in a 231. That would of course require the installation of the air intake in the cowling and a modified baffling, but it might improve the cooling of the right hand side cylinders.
  3. Are the 34“ with intercooler?
  4. I have been waiting for this for a couple of years. I even tried to get a bunch of people together. What I learned is that there was always a moving target of 5,6,7 ... of orders to get production started. It never materialized... I finally decided for Turboplus and the kit is on the way right now.
  5. Flew a Tiger for a couple of years and loved it. Stepped up to a K not a J. Major differences were: - heavier controls not as nice and easy as in the Tiger - a lot more stable in turbulence and during approaches - Tiger is more a low altitude airplane - Visibility and cabin access in the Tiger is much better - much better grass field capability (Tiger) - Performance improvements were significant - higher maintenance costs although the Mooney is not so bad Hope that helps
  6. That is way to low. You should be 24-25. The exact amount can be found in I think sid97-3g from Continental.
  7. I thought he mentioned that cruise went up again after putting the old prop back on
  8. Lloyd lost quite some airspeed with his and therefore didn't use it for his RTW trip. Could you probably do some tests before and after the installation of yours to see if this prooves for other installations also ?
  9. As long as you are LOP increasing the fuel flow increases power and that increases TAS. No surprise I doubt that you have still been LOP at 12.2 - don't trust the E3 especially when you only increased FF and haven't redone the leaning procedure.
  10. PM sent
  11. Looks really nice ! How many teeth do you have on each gear?
  12. Do they really think anybody buys a new product of them after their latest repair announcements?
  13. I don't do it myself therefore I don't know the sealant. I was asking because I have planned a longer trip in May and am trying to find out if the job can be done in time.
  14. Assuming that the tank has already been stripped and cleaned how long does it take from sealing to be ready to fill up ?
  15. It usually is RG400
  16. To me it looks like the DB concierge works only for the Jepp charts not the nav database.
  17. On the KFC200 it will give you only altitude preselect no VS select. VS select is only available on the KFC 150 and other AP models. The box that adds altitude hold for the Aspen technically only automates the push on the alt button of the AP.
  18. I thought the EDM 900 doesn't have a frequency input?
  19. I suffer with you and can imagine how frustrating that process must be. I wish you all the luck - and please keep us updated [emoji106][emoji846]
  20. I am still discussing the installation with my AI. How did you guys got it signed of with the EDM? @Scott: Is there anything from the directorate that I can use to convince my AI?
  21. That sounds interesting. I paid 299 each the last time. Where did you find a reference that those are the #633358 equivalent?
  22. My experiences are quite similar to yours. A few thoughts about the infallability of the manufacturers: Were they able to design a balanced intake system? Did they even recognize how important that is ? How many tries did it take them to build a good turbo installation ? Have they ever published any data? I personally believe in what is most reasonable according to the available data, but that is everybody's own choice. One more thought about the coking: if the pressure of the hot oil drops below the turbo chargers check valve pressure of 15psi while running at low rpm - could this probably cause what you intend to avoid ...?
  23. There are lots of turbo diesels from different auto manufacturers which are equipped with a start stop system in Europe. This system shuts down the engine all the time when the car stops for more than a few seconds even if it has been run hard for the last minutes or hours (and they are run hard with high power when driving 135mph). Obviuosly they don't see a problem ...
  24. Great - Thanks !
  25. Hi Andrew, nice to see that you plane makes good progress. Looking forward to see the finished result [emoji846] Did you manage to take a look at my baby ? Could you see how far they are?
