  1. Wonder what the price would/should be?
  2. I second Glacier National Park. No minimum overflight altitude restrictions in the park.
  3. Quote: healthfx ...We stopped in FLG, AZ to fuel my '62 M20C and to let my little guy stretch.
  4. Quote: Kris_Adams I'm hoping to fly in to attend the PDK event in my M20J. I've emailed Jeff. Cool video btw!
  5. Parker (or anyone else, for that matter) - Do you feel that a pilot would be giving up too much good info by going with ADS-B info ONLY, vice using XM Weather? I'm thinking about lack of cloud cover info, granularity of radar return info, ADS-B's lack of stations in the middle of the country, etc.
  6. Now available at Sporty's. Pros? Cons? Chuck M.
  7. Not an electrician, but it sounds like worn wires, touching other worn wires, or touching a terminal.
  8. What about Mena, AR? Is there an MSC there?
  9. McMuff - Which plane are you interested in buying? I might know something about it. Chuck M. Atlanta, GA
  10. If the amount of trim you've dialed in is not enough, dial in some more. After safely airborne, trim back down a bit, if you wish, before raising the gear. Err...umm... you do realize that the trim does not move the elevators, right?
  11. "Used the Nflightcam and plugged it into the headphone jack." Did you use an NFlightcam or an NFlightcam PLUS? The PLUS is the only version that un-effs that bent-propeller effect.
  12. Any other Bravo drivers notice their oil temp shoot up and peg the meter on the right side, then have it eventually settle down to around 240 deg.? This during 24/24 operation at low altitude. Chuck M.
  13. What about HUDs? Are they available?
  14. Parker, I just had the same thing happen to me today. I had to pop both the Gear Warning CB and the Stall Warning CB to stop the shrill alarm. This was all on just Master Switch. I got out and jiggled the stall warning tab to ensure it wasn't stuck. Didn't make any difference. The plane had not been flown in a month, and was stored in a hangar. The water-causing-a-short idea sounds attractive, but I really don't know what causes it. Chuck M.
  15. Had mine sent to a company in Canada. It had a lot of pitting on the interior surface. They welded over the cracks, and blessed it. I've asked around, and another Bravo owner had a similar problem. BTW, if you have a burn-through in the transition, you should also check the wastegate butterfly valve. Mine was almost completely destroyed by heat. Spoke with Bruce Jaeger about this - he said it's predictable if you run your engine hard, then don't increase the richness of the mixture to compensate. He said that, at altitude, if you're trying to get 75%-85% power, you've gotta be running around 200 ROP. Solution? Slow down, reduce power, stay 100-150 ROP. Chuck M. '91 Bravo
  16. A thought... you may be seeing the result of a harmonic that 'sits' on the bracket as a standing wave. That would cause stress cracks quickly, for sure. The lighter construction of the bracket - compared to the thickness of, say, the crankcase and heads, etc, - could contribute to its vulnerability. Chuck M.
  17. What about the girl you picked up?
  18. Quote: flyboy0681 Please refrain from using the word NAZI on this board.
  19. Nasty landing accident in 2007. Prob. why it looks so new.
  20. I should add some details to my earlier post. When shopping for a plane, my wife said she didn't want to fly in a plane that was going to be real bumpy. Translated, that meant a bird that could get up to cool air quickly. Here in the south, that means a plane that can climb to 8,000+ quickly. Well, that meant a turbo or a big engine, like in a Missile. If you're east of the Mississippi, and don't mind bumpy updrafts, I'd bet you could get along just fine with a normally aspirated bird. As many other posters have said, it's all about what your situation is.
  21. In my experience, the maintenance has not been that bad. The Bravo is a speed merchant, though. If that is what you want, you can get it from a 231, a 252, a Bravo, an Ovation or an Acclaim. You won't be able to get more than three adults in it, though, either because of space or weight. Your Lance had room (speaking charitably) for six people. Do you need to carry more than three people total? Mine is a '91. I got it for $134K. Much above that, it doesn't make a lot of sense. If you don't need the slight increase in baggage compartment room, you'd be just as well off in a 252 or a 231. I was originally shopping for a 252, but a Bravo came onto the market heavily discounted due to previous damage, and I jumped on it. It's worked out great. But I was really, really lucky. But don't get suckered into an overpriced 252, either. There's a guy at my field who's trying to sell his 252 Rocket for... $249K. Sheesh. Chuck M.
  22. Cloud tops are depicted inside Foreflight.
