  1. Happened just south of Dayton, OH about a year or so ago. They had taken off from Middletown, OH.
  2. "It pisses me off I didn't make it to the WoG airshow. I was IN THE AIR and had to turn back because I don't have an instrument rating." ?????

  4. Be sure to have some lobster rolls in Wiscasset for me.
  5. Ah!!! Pleasant memories of VT-27...
  6. Looks like water or oil residue on the bottom of the empennage underneath the rear of the 'bag'. That piece of wood looks just like a piece of wood flooring I've been installing in my living room. Got it from lumber liquidators.
  7. One of my Gills died after only two years. Replaced it with a Concorde. Too early to say how it will do...
  8. You could also fly into Hayward, then rent a car and go south to the San Mateo bridge, then cut back north to the ball field. Or just fly into San Jose.
  9. If an approach controller gave *me* a SID, I'd ignore him, too.
  10. Pull the Gear Warning Horn CB and the Stall Warning Horn CB. Take a hair dryer to the stall switch tab opening. After you feel you've dried it out, push back in those two CBs, energize the Master Switch, then jiggle the stall tab a bunch of times, until the noise stops.
  11. My daughter passed the Bar two years ago... I'm still waiting...
  12. Yeah, $20,000 per year is a good estimate... The fuel is what balloons that number...
  13. "When do you use takeoff flaps?" Takeoff.
  14. Interesting article at AOPA. Includes a link to a video demonstration. http://blog.aopa.org/leadingedge/?WT.mc_sect=sap&WT.mc_id=130726epilot&p=3971
  15. Thanx for all the replies, folks. I decided against landing at 5GA3 because I'm not proficient in soft-field takeoffs, and my plane has 115 gals. of fuel aboard, and we've had a lot of rain recently. RLBridges, the IA is Bell Aeromotive.
  16. Considering taking my Bravo to an IA whose shop is at a grass turf airport. What will I need to do with the wheel covers to prevent problems?
  17. If you hate the height of a 201's panel, don't even get into a Bravo... http://mooneyspace.com/gallery/image/30291-/
  18. Now, one of the Asiana pilots said a bright light was shining in his eye. That's the ticket.
  19. "The owner claims he was told a rough engine or engine stalling during taxi turns was/is a common problem with Mooneys." Reminds me of the "Tractor Incident" Seinfeld episode.
