  1. Stan - You may want to try Avemco. I understand they won't cancel you for age, but you must start with them before some magic age or being cancelled. Larry
  2. If you still decide to go see this aircraft in person, buy a roundtrip ticket. Preferably refundable. It will take pressure, however slight, to buy the plane.
  3. Wilco has 3 RG24-15 in stock. $850 ea
  4. Digging up an old thread. Last April I ordered a set of shock disks for my J from AirPower. I didn't need them right away and they verbally quoted an August delivery. I just received them today, Mfg date 7/14/23. The price from Air Power was 166 ea including shipping, that's 1825 for a set shipped. Aircraft Spruce has them in stock at 2420 plus shipping. Just another data point. Larry
  5. Wasn't Don Maxwell replacing the diaphragm on the Airspeed Safety Switches? It may be worth a call.
  6. I know of a K with TKS that is sitting in a heated hangar in a dry environment at a fly-in community. The owner doesn't want to sell. I think it's his trophy. I gave him the contact info for Jimmy a year ago.
  7. Quick G5 question. Will the G5 battery charge from the ship battery when parked or does it charge only when plane is powered up? Thanks!
  8. Is that a "minor alteration" or do you have a STC?
  9. If nothing has changed, contact Allied Motion (the renamed manufacturer). The contact info is below. They will accept your motor and return a rebuilt that looks suspiciously like a brand new one. Just make sure that you only send the motor, no brackets or accessories. Larry Allied.pdf
  10. You could also try Jim Fackler. His career has been in prop and rotor balancing. Based in the LA area, he tries to travel to you on days he has another customer to combine trips. http://www.jfdynamics.com Larry
  11. As previous poster said, it has a hump 2300' from the end of 22. Runway 22 has a 2.1% upslope for the first 2300'. Conversely, runway 4 has a 2.1% downslope for the last 2300'. Take Paul up on his offer. There are usually 1 or 2 planes on the south parking area waiting for insurance adjusters or parts due to misjudgment. Larry
  12. Wow! Have you considered installing long range tanks so you can get further from home with our refueling?
  13. Ross - I didn't say that I have found them any less expensive. I was just giving current prices. I have been surprised at the rate of increase. Larry
  14. How did you get this price from Chief, they're showing 219.95 on their w/s now.
  15. Herber quoted me 165 last week, 1815 plus tax and shipping.
  16. Have prices increased that much? Spruce is $266 ea. Herber quoted 184.
  17. EAA strikes again with a parts program for aircraft built before 1980. Larry EAA VARMA
  18. Are you sure about that date? I show the 8th as a Wednesday.
  19. I heard that Eaton had a heat treating issue causing the springs to not have the correct tension. I believe the problem was discovered by Joey Cole.
  20. @Microkit - Thanks for the detailed response! Larry
  21. Those of you who installed the Height Finder in the left wing inside and behind the left main gear. How did you route the cable to the panel? Did you pull the side royalite or able to just remove the side carpet panel to get over the spar? Thanks, Larry
  22. I just received my LHS. Which inspection panel is everyone using. Early on, someone mentioned installing in the left wing behind the gear. Any better sugestions? Thanks, Larry
  23. I'll be there with one co-pilot. Thanks for coordinating this event.
  24. Thanks! I looked for the TCDS, but couldn't find it for the "V".
  25. I'm having a discussion with another Mooney owner. Did the Mooney Ultra come from the factory with LED strobes on the wings and tail? Larry
