    At my last annual (May 2021) both rear facing recognition lights were burned out. Both had been replaced as recently as a couple years ago. My IA said since I had the Whelen Orion 550 strobe/position light it was not required to have the wingtip lights working. I just ordered and installed the Aero-LiteA-508 LED bulbs. Popped into place and work beautifully.

    Fussy’s Piper Comanche. He and Gizmo were in the aircraft. Gizmo also has a Comanche, but his is down waiting on a factory rebuilt engine. Both flew with the caravan last year. We rode out the big storm together in the Caravan big tent. @M20Doc we do allow Pipers to fly with us

    The lens is held in with silicon like sealant. Mine came out easily. One of the bulb receptacles was replaced 2-3 years ago.

    Today’s (NOT) flight. Low IFR yesterday and today all over Western Washington. I drove 12 miles and at 1500 feet elevation this is the weather. Hiked instead of flying today

    @OSUAV8TER My 97 J has this red beacon light on the belly. All the LED lights I have found look like the size and shape of a soup can. Are there any LEDs that are more streamlined to replace this light?

    When I was unable to attend in Santa Maria a few years ago due to weather I was able to later attend in Denver. This is a top notch organization that will work with you in a completely fair and open manner

    I have attended 9 of these and plan to go to Santa Maria in April. I recall hearing the biggest expense is insurance and expect the instructors travel expenses are reimbursed

    I bought N1084L (‘97 J) in 2005. It had been in Florida for a couple of years. During the 2011 annual LASAR found similar corrosion. It was an unwelcome additional expense but not disastrous.
