  1. Great looking panel! What did aerocomfort do to spruce up your glare shield? lee
  2. Thanks Skip. I had already disconnected the speaker and the annunciator panel and that didn’t change anything, so it must be the breaker or something in the wiring in the belly. It will be awhile before I can dig in though. Lee
  3. I'm having trouble with my gear warning circuit in my 1992 MSE. The Gear warning breaker is tripping. It has a tripped a few times in the past couple of months. In the past, the CB trip only occurred when the gear was lowered. Now the CB does not hold at all. I suspect it is a bad breaker. Any other thoughts before I dig into the bowels of the breaker panel? Note this is just the gear warning circuit; the gear is operating fine. The Gear Warning CB only impacts the floor light, annunciator light, and audible alert. Lee
  4. I’ve done this several times. Usually short stops. I shut down, disembark passenger, remove the chock. Also, one time I took off with a tie-down rope still attached. The rope was in such a bad condition I didn’t even notice it until I landed a couple hours later. lee
  5. Y’all are all going the cheap route! Install a g3x; it has a clock built in. Lee
  6. For me it’s 2000’ because that’s the altitude where radio reception is sufficient to pick up the clearance. With Less than 2,000’, I have to do the phone call routine. Lee
  7. I don’t think their plan is going to play out well. Lee
  8. I’ve had good luck using fiberglass cloth and PVC pipe cement. It melts the fiberglass cloth into the abs plastic. I do this on the backside of the trim to add strength. I then use some pvc putty to fill the larger cracks on the front side. Sand and then paint and it looks like new. Lee
  9. I like the Trig radio. I have one in my Citabria along with a Garmin GTN 650. The Trig audio is better than the Garmin radio. The trig is remote mounted and tied into the PS engineering intercom/com. Lee
  10. I had the pitch servo fail two weeks after installing the GTC-500. That was three years ago. I had another pitch servo fail last week and they did a warranty replacement on the second one too. Lee
  11. I had the same thing happen to me recently. The pin slipped out of three of 2700’s. I never had that happen before. Lee
  12. Concerning checklist, I used the ‘ACE Editor’ app on my iPad and found it to be relatively easy to use. Lee
  13. Did you notice the rust around the fuel tank filler neck? I suspect the airplane has significant corrosion. Lee
  14. Me too. I always spray the screws with LPS before reinstalling. Rarely have any problems. Lee
  15. I have my Mooney, Citabria, and my son’s ski boat in my 50x50 hangar. The taildragger is a little difficult since the tail cannot be moved over something lower such as a wing or boat trailer. Works fine though. Lee
  16. I live on a 3,000’ grass strip with my M20J. I collected data for a couple of years on all the factors influencing performance. I found that ground roll is within about 5% of a paved runway when the grass is dry and recently mowed. Otherwise about 10% variance. Lee
  17. Is the gdl88 connected to the Fs210? I believe the GDL88 is hardwired to the 530. lee
  18. The edm900 and 930 are great products. It’s a lot of work to install but it has a lot of useful features. Lee
  19. Is your presentation to enlightened and aviation audience on the value proposition of having a Mooney? if so, the record of the moneys are worth exploring. Old wives tales (difficult to land, cockpit is too small, etc). Address maintenance issues (fuel tanks, dual mag, no back spring, etc). Explain the performance of the Mooney in sped and efficiency. Basically tell the audience what is unique about the Mooney (good and bad). lee
  20. As others have said, there are a lot of factors to consider (me, the airplane, turbulence, WS, area wx, etc). Generally, my planning is 500-1 or better at the planned time of arrival. Upon arrival, if the weather is reporting minimums or better, I’ll fly it. In the past, I would depart if the weather was at minimums or better. That has worked fine for me for over 50 years, but I’m 70 now and have readjusted due to age. I expect the numbers will increase again before long. Lee
  21. My complaint is the pink outlines on the map. However, Rick correctly said it’s the aeronautical map. I don’t use that and don’t know how it got selected. Anyway, it’s solved. thanks to everyone for your comments. lee
  22. I just got a new iPhone 16. The Foreflight image on the new phone looks cartoonish. Is there a way to have it display like the iPad?
  23. I’m using MS-25041’s. They are about $25 each from spruce. My mechanic and I have not installed these yet. Lee
  24. I didn’t change my senders. The gauges seem to be within about a gallon of actual. Lee
  25. I did the same thing when I needed one. Not difficult. Lee
