  1. Good deal. I need to get stationed in Texas...
  2. The seller may resist taking it to a guy like Maxwell. He will undoubtedly uncover everything wrong with the aircraft. If he has been getting pencil whipped annuals for the last few years, it is going to be ugly and he is not going to be happy.... but you will be.
  3. Welcome to the club.... or as I call it, "Mooney Mafia."
  4. Quote: JimR I slip occasionally when necessary in my 201 and it seems to slip just fine.
  5. Quote: ILXLR8 I registered mooneymap.com and linked it to the map that Jeff set up. I hope this helps everyone to remember the link. Thanks for all the participation everyone! As far as people having extra Mooney parts. I am in need of a CDT/TIT gauge. If anyone has one available please let me know. Thanks!
  6. Quote: mooneygirl Matt, you need to be part of our Mooney Ambassador family and host a NW fly-in. Check us out on Facebook. Our goal is to Support Mooney Airplane Company, promote general aviation and have someplace wonderful to fly. Great idea. Plenty of great destinations up here that fit the "wonderful to fly" description.
  7. Looks like the PAC NW needs to hold a Mooney Fly in...
  8. Look in the upper right corner of the left column... Hit the edit button after you have added your airport/location to the map.
  9. Sure... http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=103430918650058616864.00047a5599a2a4d304e07&t=h&safe=strict&ll=36.385913,-96.943359&spn=33.58775,78.837891&z=4 Just search for your airport, hit edit and add your user name to the place marker. Any issues with the map, let me know.
  10. Not a bad idea.
  11. Congrats on selling the Seneca and getting the new Mooney Ken.
  12. You dont have to pay it every year, although there may be a use tax associated with it. I deal with this nonsense every time I move to a new state (about every 1.5 years). I would pay it if it was a more reasonable rate, but 10% is absolutely absurd. This is my fault as I did not do enough research before I purchased the plane. Oh well, lesson learned.
  13. Thanks. http://www.mooneyspace.com/index.cfm?mainaction=posts&forumid=1&threadid=600 Basically, no military exemption for the sales tax in WA and I am not paying them for the privilege of keeping it here for another 12 months when the Army moves me again.
  14. Ran 5767Z through her paces yesterday in the cold weather. Climbing at 500 FPM through 14,500 with about 90KIAS. Very cool as I had never been that high before. The view is spectacular. Here is some video. I am going to be sad to see her go.
  15. Quote: Buster1 All very cool and I really can appreciate those speeds. I do love GA, do not read me wrong. But I just gotta say today I hit 500 kts GS at about 1000 AGL...gotta love afterburner!
  16. In my last aircraft, it was also on the wing. Having said that, I cant be sure that the thing sticking out of the cowling is in fact the OAT probe.
  17. It is sticking out of the cowling on the co-pilots side. Not the most ideal place as it interferes with my plane cover.
  18. I have received several emails and PMs about my plane going onto the market. I have had to sell due to a dispute with acertain department within the Washington bureaucracy. If it doesn't sell, there are other options, but it looks like I will be heading overseas again this summer. I will relook plane ownership when I return.... Im not going to post the ad, because I dont want to advertise on the board, but it is easy enough to find. In my clearly non objective opinion who ever buys it will get one hell of a Mooney. Matt
  19. I owned Bose and I currently have the Zulus. The bluetooth, comfort and audio input puts the Zulus solidly in the lead. I will never go back to the Bose.
  20. Quote: Mitch Hello LFOD. Based on my experience with the nice folks at ArtCraft, I would say their post on the this thread is probably a mistake. In my opinion, certainly not an attempt at spam. I will speak to them tomorrow. Incidentally, I've enjoyed watching your IFR posts on YouTube.
  21. Quote: ArtCraft ArtCraft Paint, Inc has a Thanks’ giving special COMPLETE PAINT JOB FOR $ 9,000.00 if you bring your aircraft before Saturday November 14, 2009
  22. Quote: mjc I just did this recently in my M20C. It has the split-removable rear seats. A full golf bag fits perfectly with a seat removed. If you don't have removable rear seats, I guess it depends on how often you intend to do it. I'm pretty sure you'll need a field approval and 337 for a ski tube-type modification or installing removable rear seats. After all is said and done, I can't imagine it'll cost less than 1 AMU, and it could be a good deal more. I completely understand about the rental clubs thing. We wanted to go to Shelter Cove, but it was fogged in, so we ended up at Oroville. Shelter Cove doesn't have club rentals (unattended golf course, I believe) and the clubs my father rented at Oroville were pretty well used.
  23. Just go all out and get the factory to put in one of their fancy interiors. What is $20K between friends?
  24. The avionics are weak and I wonder when the engine was OH. Most 231s are top overhauled around that time I think. A quick check of the standard Mooney gotchas and it looks like a good buy. I wonder if the last annual was done by Lasar? There are a few shops throughout the country that I would consider good to go if they did the annual within the last couple of months. They are one of them.
  25. Yup, I use logshare.com and I absolutely love it. I like the currency reminders. The only thing is I forget to fill out my real logbook and usually spend an hour or so and a couple of beers catching up. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
