  3. Get yourself a stainless steel quality watch (rolex, tag, etc....)It will last a lifetime and goes well with a suit or casual clothing....Why would you need an E6B? We are dorks anyway for owning/flying our own aircraft, no need to advertise it when we are not aviating.

  6. I was at the FBO yesterday and there was a 252 on the jacks. So of course I go to check out the plane and the mechanic comes over and explains hsi conundrum. After an electrical failure, the pilot manually lowered the gear, but now it wont come up. It seems like the gear motor is jammed and does not have enough power to raise it. Any suggestions? Thanks.

  15. I know this a noob question, but the weather is really nice and I would like to give my girl a good cleaning. The problem is all of the aircraft stores are closed. Can anyone recommend a waterless cleaning product that can be procured locally? Thanks.
  16. I couldnt deploy the brakes after getting iced up once, but it is a much less significant emotional event then if they had been deployed. Don't touch that button if you are watching the ice build on your leading edges.
  17. I dont think you will see much difference in the operating costs of an F or a J. The purchase price will be higher and the resulting insurance premium will be the same. I spent a lot more on my 1967 F then I do on my 1984 J, but that had to do with the specific aircraft I had and nothing to do with it being an F model.
  18. Does it bother you that the Aspen is not centered over the controls? Im trying to decide if that would drive me crazy or not.. Then again having the AI and HSI there doesnt seem to bother me now. Nice setup BTW.
  19. Im glad you were able to solve the problem.. Is it bad that I secretly hope that something like this happens to me to justify the purchase of an aspen or G500?

  21. I have the 3g version and I loaded Foreflight on it. It is an absolutely outstanding setup in the air. The GPS works well and having all of the charts available is great. My outdated paper charts and approach books will remain well to the rear of the cargo area. Enjoy it when you get it.
