  1. Thanks for the response Hank. Mine used to do that. Now when I click on forums, it pops up with two choices, "general" and "group specific forums". If I click on general, it then acts right. I just got a new lap top, but I shouldn't think that should make a difference.
  2. Why, all the sudden, when I select forums, it makes me take the extra step of having to then select general forums.
  3. I want to know who that guy in the poll is, that started flying Mooneys past age 100.
  4. Incidentally, if you want to tell me the size, material, some other specification, etc., I can make them as an owner produced part, and thus legal (in my opinion) part.
  5. You can message me here, email me at muncy-d@hotmail.com, or call me at 214 207-6744.
  6. In drilling plastics, they crack as the drill bit exits the other side. If you support the work piece well on a piece of wood, it is much less likely to break. I have used standard bit on plexiglass and lexan many times. Truth is, I have probably cracked two out of a hundred.
  7. I might add, the liability carrier required me to go back to a third class medical from basic med.
  8. I don't know whether you saw my previous thread. I am 82. Parker could not find any carrier who would offer me hull insurance on my Mooney. Some would give me a policy if I flew a non-retractable plane. Liability policies are available. I wound up buying a liability policy and self insuring the hull.
  9. I have made some, but the quality was not very good. If you want cheap, and high quality is not paramount, let me know.
  10. I am sure you are aware, the absolute best place is Maxwell at GGG, less than an hour flight from Dallas.
  11. On the visors I build, I use a 1 3/4 inch stud, which provides enough length to thread into the frame, sufficient clearance for the headliner, and enough extra for the visor arm, washers, and a locknut.
  12. I had both Moderna shots, and both gave me a slightly sore arm and no other problems.
  13. Mine was so bad that back when I was flying commercial a lot with my employment, I had a special place in a rock garden in the terminal at Love Field where I could hide mine until I returned later in the day.
  14. Don't forget the "pocket knife" factor. Flying commercial means that I have to try to remember to leave it in the car, risk a quarter mile hike back to put it in the car, or the risk for losing it to TSA.
  15. Real MEK is available at Lowes in Dallas, but only in gallons. I think their logic is that people willing to buy in gallons are somehow more responsible than those who buy in quart quantities.
  16. As far as I know, the only "always hot" circuits are for the clock and the interior lights. Avoiding the problem of drain from the interior lights is easy. The only fix for the clock "draw" is to disconnect the clock.
  17. Glad it is working well. Let me know if you have any problems. It was good to meet you too.
  18. This is good. We now have a couple of tugs available to build (and/or buy in my case). MinniMooney's works with the drive wheel against the nose tire, and mine uses traction between the drive wheel and the ground.
  19. I like that washer idea
  20. Thanks for the follow-up, MM. What is you opinion of using a tire to drive the nosewheel, as opposed to my design, using the drive tire traction on the ground.
  21. I'm interested in your tow bar. Do you mind sharing more details, what kind of motor you use, how well it works, etc.
  22. You probably also should add a #3. We are happy with our 231s; just not quite as happy as we could have been.
  23. I get $140 per set for the visors (with hardware), and $20 per pair for just the shades, plus shipping. Shipping is running less than $15.
  24. They look good, if I do say so myself.
  25. Although the 252 is a superior plane, and I wish I had waited for one rather than buying a 231, the 231 is still a good plane, and if operated carefully, it will do the job. I don't fly very high every much, but the ability to easily get up to 14 to 17K, over most of the weather and a lot of the traffic is nice.
