  1. Looking in the engine compartment after I removed the cowl. I see that #5 EGT seems to be leaking and exhaust gas is blowing by the probe where it is inserted in the exhaust tube. There is staining on the black scat tube. What is the best method to seal that probe to keep the gases exiting. I haven’t noticed any CO in the cockpit with the heater turned on. The current engine monitor is a Garmin EIS but there was a GEM installed when I made Miss Daisy my #1 gal (GF doesn’t read MS or will find out shortly that she does).
  2. Sorry to hear about this. I’m no expert but I would think your voltage regulator would be part of the problem. I guess I thought you had fixed the belt part. Or maybe I missed that part of the thread.
  3. Everybody complains about the price of gas but have you seen the price of extension cords lately? Make AVGAS seem like a bargain.
  4. I will not be able to sleep because of your doubts. We weighed 17 lbs of wires. I pulled nearly 10 lbs of antennas (ADF, RA, etc) Believe what you want I was there when it was weighed. How much do you think an EHI40 weighs?
  5. I only flew it for a month before we did all that work. So no basis for comparison. I have been keeping my hottest (#1) below 380 but I guess that was for Conti. Managing #1 mostly with cowl flaps. I don’t think #1 being warmer than the rest is baffling but the other cylinders are pretty cool ~20 deg lower. I haven’t flown in a week. I need some Miss Daisy time.
  6. Garmin EIS and new baffles from @GEE-BEE AEROPRODUCTS
  7. Weigh it completely empty. Weigh it with unusable fuel. I lost 74 lbs due to a major avionics upgrade. However the CG shifted so far forward that I had to out 50lbs of sand in the luggage compartment for W&B. If only I had the $$s for th me four blade prop, I could fix that issue. $20K vs $5 in sand. Smoother landing with that earth in the back.
  8. Inflation is one thing but dang.
  9. I put gaffers tape on the seams to keep the oil out otherwise it finds its way into the pan. Prolly also worth two knots.
  10. You are not the gatekeeper or the moral police, call the FCC. You have no suggestions just complaints. Don't tell me or anybody else to SHUT UP.

  13. No the LGB thing is political speech, I inferred that it only came up because it is political speech. Telling MSers to SHUT UP because somebody is irked by political speech on guard is not the appropriate forum, maybe contact the FCC. I suppose I could go to APF or PPW and tell everybody over there to shut up if I didn't like what I heard on the radio. I only found one reference to meow's on guard in my exhaustive search.
  14. Weird I monitor guard and I haven't heard anything. I am going to do a search on MS and see if people were complaining about "meow" or anything else on guard or is it just because it is political speech (albeit inappropriate on guard) - which we gentleman aviators try to avoid on MS. Let's Go Google...
  15. Seems impolite to tell people to shut up. Especially when you don’t know that anybody on this forum is responsible. Sort of
  16. Just got mine from @OSUAV8TER can’t wait to plug it in. I have an Aerotherm, which is thermostat controlled but I like the idea of having a small cabin heater turned on 3-4 hours before I fly to prevent cracking.
  17. When I bought my Bravo there were no bulbs in the overhead. I think probably for that reason. There were some light scorch marks around some of them indicating that they probably been left on for a long time.
  18. No of course not. I just made that part up out of thin air in order to sell more parachutes. :)
  19. Maybe give an individual parachute to a person on an airline that allows somebody with 250 hours into the right seat of a 737.
  20. I'd be willing to catch COVID for a donut but alas...
  21. I sold my R182 rather than changing the battery.
  22. A. You break it you buy it. B. Don't do it. C. Hold my beer. D. All of the above.
  23. A more important question is why would you keep a Century II and will it work with the panel you are trying to build? The AMUs are the limit.
