  5. I’ve flown in there on the ILS and RNAV 05 and circled to land on 31. 31 has rising terrain and looks high but np in taking off. I usually do a downwind departure to the southwest if taking off 31. VX climb then VY to traffic pattern… 13 is right traffic btw… -Don
  6. Things moving along! Shop found a discrepancy in the roll servo arm length, needed to be shortened on my bird. Minor modification thankfully. I’ll be heading out Monday for a review and were adding a second cigarette light socket for additional power for future items I may want to power up. Excited to see the panel update for the flat pack… -Don
  7. Working the gear in the air vs ground is not the same — the forces are different for sure… Just a heads up… -Don
  8. Edge Aviation in Commerce TX. I’ll find out how much they like doing these in the older Mooneys ;o) I’m their first Mooney - they’ve done a lot of AeroCruze installs in Pipers and Cessna. IA has one in his C182… -Don
  9. Dropped off this morning. Went over everything with the shop. Excited to see how it all comes together!
  10. STC is good for my year Mooney, minor changes allowed with the STC. Install is about $4500 + incidentals. I’m having a few more things done while it’s there. Just dropped her off…

  17. Mine goes in this month for the AeroCruze. No issue with the current STC from Duncan… -Don
  18. On my C, ~2200 hours, oil analysis showed metal (cam/lifters). I did a Top overhaul and we did a complete IRAN (I didn’t want to wait 6 months for overhaul) on the case - new cam, DLC lifters, lifter plungers, push rod caps, tubes, pushrods, new rod bolts, bearings, seals, gaskets, fuel pump. I had already completed accessories (new SureFly, mag, alternator) upgrades by then. Shop checked case, crank etc before IRAN/Top overhaul… While not an overhaul, the shop did a great job getting it freshen up in 3 WEEKS! Runs great… Until it shows metal, I’d run it and save up… -Don
  19. I have a C, 75k hull, ~$2500 last year. Renewal is coming up so I’ll be sending Avemco my WINGS records and sign-off on flight review. 775 hours and over 500 in a Mooney…
  20. I have Avemco, I participate in WINGS, get an annual flight review and complete WINGS phases, helps with my renewal. So far, they’ve been quite good… -Don
