No, I called the FBO early to let them know I was coming and get a ride to Amarillo airport for the rental. T45 (Panhandle- Carson) could be another option but no rentals there. -Don

Oil report came back. Looking way better! Chrome a little higher but I’m told by Blackstone that is normal for Millennium cylinders. Metal is way, way down and should get better in succeeding reports as I put more hours on engine. At the time of oil change. ~30 tach hours on the engine. Running great… -Don

The FBO will take you to the Amarillo airport if you call ahead. I did that. I reserved a rental at Amarillo and they took me there. On the return, I used the courtesy car and the wife drove the rental back. -Don

I sent ForeFlight a suggestion to create a DP version of map overlay with just the basic map and traffic - no side tool bar etc. just the route tray (nav/profile) and the DP options. simple view and that would allow me to ‘toggle’ between map and DP. No turning off this overlay etc. simple view like this in the image. Toggle as need but independent mapping views - similar to Garmin pilot (although GP does have Split View)… -Don

I now run ForeFlight for what it does best, Garmin Pilot for what it does best (SmartCharts for SIDs, STARs, IPs). I plan on canceling my Jepp charts since GP is a legal replacement and i can use the Gov charts. I don't fly internationally so those will suffice. I still really like ForeFlight but the DP approach to things are just ok and only support IPs for now… I do like the alternate airport binder auto create in FF - great add there Good to have competition… They’ll both get better… -Don

Mine goes into the shop in September. IA said no problem doing a 337 for the extra steps needed. I have the ‘submitted’ drawings so we’re gonna run with that… -Don

I’d suggest a Ferry permit. Get them to sign off what they have completed - inspection is technically complete - and note the discrepancies. I believe Savvy (if you have their program) notes that… then goto another AP to get their opinion… -Don -
