  1. Guy is looking for a WX 500, not a WX 1000 display. Or am I missing something?
  2. Kind of. Third class medical date: 11/2000.
  3. I wish I could buy stock in his ability to inspire people to defend him from any criticism online. He's the best in the world at that.
  4. There are good reasons to have dual COMMs, but the GNC 255A can do this: you can monitor the second (flip-flop) frequency and listen to it and your active frequency at the same time, all from the same box.
  5. Can’t wait for my Mooney to burst into flames and keep me locked in it, then Elon takes a break from Hitler memes to tweet about how it was all my fault. Sounds great.
  6. Here we go again…
  7. Here's a good clock option. There are also versions with USB-C if you prefer that over USB-A. https://www.mcico.com/clocks-3/6420093-2-1
  8. My avionics shop told me they would have to cut into metal to make the antenna internal when I had a 406 MHz ELT from Artex installed. I HATE the antenna which is mounted left of centerline and thus leans a little to port. Hate it.
  9. I recommended three different COMMs to mitigate that, which you left out of your quote. Not exactly sure why, maybe I’m missing your point. In any event, his choice of the GNC 255 is a good one, I have the same radio!
  10. You didn't mention replacing the transponder, so how about a GNX 375 (#2 GPS navigator and MFD + transponder) and either a GTR 20 remote comm controlled through the G3X (might need approval for a certified installation, not sure) or the GTR 225 if you want something in the panel. And if you want a NAV/COMM instead of just a COMM, the GNC 255 is a great radio. That would give you two IFR GPSes, two COMMs, and either one or two IFR NAVs, plus an ADS-B transponder that can be controlled through the G3X.
  11. @Kerry_PDX What he said. Here’s their site: http://advancedaircraft.net/index.html I haven’t used them myself yet but Greg has been very helpful on the phone.
  12. Which maintainer? I have a BatteryMINDer, if this happened to me after keeping the battery connected all times I'm not flying I'd be ticked!
  13. Like it never happened. Does he have an office in California?
  14. I happened to see your plane pulled apart when I was visiting a certain undisclosed location -- hope you don't have any delays!
  15. Also, just look at the face of the unit (and compare to easily Googled photos of a GNS-430W). The lack of a left-side knob to tune frequencies, no VOL/SQ knobs, and no flip-flop buttons are a dead giveaway.
  16. The two GI-275s framing the G3X makes for a very nice look.
  17. Mine are the Comant CI-305, two of them.
  18. Would one of these work for you? From a 1994 J/MSE.
  19. Are you asking me or @Jay Bird? Mine are original.
  20. The GMA 35c is remote-mounted and controlled through the GTN 750 soft keys. https://www.garmin.com/en-US/p/73817/pn/010-00831-41
  21. How well do the GTN and the GNX work together?
  22. @gsxrpilot used to talk about sending the logbooks and $250 to Laura at SWTA for a review. Feel like this thread isn't complete without mentioning that.
  23. Can your hangar elves meet mine? Maybe some kind of seminar or something?
