  1. I bought one 5 or six years ago at SunNFun. I used it extensively the first year while doing my instrument training. It worked as advertised. After an hour of flying approaches and going missed, it was pretty much finished on a 90+ degree day. When it sat over the winter in my hangar, a cockroach made his home in it and pooped all over the inside. (The lid doesn't seal tight by design). I cleaned it up with bleach and used it a time or two after but that was 3 or so years ago. I should give it a shot again in this heat. I bought the remote on/ off switch so it could be turned off to save the ice at altitude. The biggest reason I don't use it is emptying the water out is inconvenient.
  2. Yes, they are owned by Gannett and prior to that the New York times. Typical left wing rag that has lost most of their credibility along with tens of thousands of subscribers and tens of millions in ad revenue.
  3. ...and when the engine stalls.
  4. It appears they lost the engine at 3000 feet and made a turn toward X35. They were roughly 10 nm north of X35 and ended up a little under 5 miles from Dunnellon, Marion county. Rough numbers but still a 10 to 1 glide ratio. I wonder if the engine was completely gone or if was producing some power? https://flightaware.com/live/flight/N79350/history/20220615/1512Z/KOCF/L 29.11931 -82.35892
  5. Yes, it belongs to Ocala Aviation.
  6. https://www.ocala.com/story/news/2022/06/15/plane-makes-emergency-landing-west-marion-county-florida/7636276001/ Local flight school trainer with student and instructor aboard.
  7. Awesome tool for summer flying. The WX900 and Adsb weather together are invaluable. There is an independent guy who will repair the backlight.
  8. @Junkman Rick, you may want to ask your doctor about Kenalog.
  9. This appears to be the source of the term “learners”… https://www.aacsb.edu/insights/articles/2020/07/developing-learners-vs-teaching-students an excerpt from the website: “Substituting learners for students, conceptually, is an exciting opportunity for both teachers and those they educate. We are now in a partnership, each of us accountable for parts of the process, but on a shared journey. This change provides a challenge for educators because learners can learn without us. The new AACSB standard on teaching effectiveness requires educators to demonstrate their lifelong learning mindset and their teaching impact. Adapting to these new guidelines is well worth the effort if we recognize that we are breaking the confines of the traditional classroom and venturing out together with our learners.” I propose we start using the term “fixers” in place of mechanics.
  10. Yes, but I would get a strike if I mentioned it here.
  11. There needs to be a documentary made about big pharma.
  12. Woohoo! How many other MSers can claim that? I know one @1964-M20E
  13. Nice-looking MSE. I have the top prop on my A1A and am pleased. I see 4JJ was formerly owned by the PBC sheriffs office. I wonder in what capacity did they use a Mooney?
  14. Tough luck, all repair facilities are empty as we all have covid here in FL.
  15. I replaced my strobes, nav and landing lights with L.E.D. James @OSUAV8TER is a Whelen dealer and will walk you through what you’ll require. The power supplies are in your wings and will come out. You can use the existing wires for the new equipment. Phil Bracken (863) 651-5557 installed mine in my hangar. He might do the same if you reach out to him. I am very pleased with mine and should have done it sooner.
  16. Yes, we're dropping like flies here in Florida. Hospitals are overflowing and the morgues are taking reservations. I would advise you to stay far away from Florida. Tell your friends too.
  17. Not quite the same but pretty much anywhere in the state….
  18. I see this is an Ovation. I would advise you to winter this Mooney in Florida, at least until the last snow has melted. I have a warm, dry hangar for you. Of course it should be flown at last once a week. I might be persuaded to keep that engine active, just looking to help out a fellow Mooniac.
  19. Ahh, the mild mannered Anthony. Just like Clark Kent @carusoam has an alter ego. Here is the glimpse I caught of him in Panama City Beach. The same way he appears when posting. Able to read through long threads in a single sitting, flys faster than a speeding J model, more diplomatic than a royal prince. He speaks truth, seeks justice and promotes the Kerrville way.
  20. Train demolishes Cessna. Pilot probably should play the lottery tonight. https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2022/01/lapd-officers-rescue-pilot-seconds-train-hits-crashed-plane-tracks-video/ https://abc7.com/pacoima-plane-down-crash-metrolink-train-video-of-pilot-being-saved/11447057/#
