  1. Thanks Anthony for calling in the reinforcements! For their info I'll just add that it's a 1992 TLS with a TIO540.
  2. Thanks Anthony. Apparently the Garmin STC doesn't include using the old transducer and must use the Garmin supplied unit. Since the Garmin one works differently it cant' be put in the same location as the old transducer. The old one was at the bottom right side of the engine next to the injector unit. The new transducer was placed near the firewall with a fuel hose routed all the way from the bottom of the engine. I'm not willing to blame the installer yet if this is normal when putting in a Garmin EIS... Picture below of new pressure transducer location.
  3. I'm hoping someone who put in a new G3X EIS system could tell me if they also experienced a change in their fuel pressure after install. I realize that a lot of models don't have the fuel pressure gauge but it's required on the M. The pressure transducer location changed from the bottom right side of the engine to a new separate fuel tube that is routed near the firewall with a sensor. I as previously seeing 35-40 psi on my old analog gauge and now I'm seeing the low 20's. Wondering if this is a calibration issue since I doubt something changed between bringing it in the shop and picking it up. Thanks.
  4. Thanks, I may put one in mine, which model do you have?
  5. Which model did you buy if you don't mind me asking?
  6. Hi Everyone, I did a major upgrade in my plane and have basically all of the avionics for sale. I'm listing them on eBay but putting them on here first in case anyone wants them. All items operated when removed from aircraft except as stated below with pictures below. Payment through Paypal. Please let me know if you have any questions or need additional photos of any items. Sandel3308 - version 2.3 software upgrade ($1500 in 2019) to allow for LPV approaches from any Garmin unit. Item works perfectly except for the heading bug which was intermittent before I took it out of the plane an and possibly a knob replacement. I'll also include a long life Sandel bulb replacement ($150 value): $1750 KX155 NAV/COMM: $1250 KX165 NAV/COMM/ILS: $1500 Aero Safe Guardian I backup vacuum pump system: $1000 KAS 297B Altitude Preselect: $500 KG-258 Gyro - worked well at higher altitudes but below 5-7K feet on hot and humid days it would sometimes lean to the left. My hypothesis is that it was the denser air on the bearings: $500 KEA-130A encoding altimeter last certified 7/2019: $500 RCA26BK-6 Electric Gyro: $500 King 150 pitch and roll Servos: $500/each JPI 700 (no probes): $350 28V Turn Coordinator: $100 (works but the wings are too sensitive, so you may need to get it repaired) Airspeed indicator (EA-5175): $175 Vertical Speed Indicator: $100 Hoskins display: $50 Suction gauge: $50
  7. Yes. About 400 hrs. I’m told our engines use more oil because of the wet heads.
  8. If you're doing a lot takeoffs 5 hours/quart would not be too abnormal in my experience. When I'm flying 4-5 hours legs I go around 10 hrs between quarts and 6 hrs when I'm doing short flights around Florida.
  9. For what it’s worth, I just put in new radios as part of a panel upgrade and I went with 1 NAV/COMM and 1 COMM. This saved about $2k and I thought 1 NAV would be enough given all of the GPS approaches and the fact that they are decommissioning VORs.
  10. The only other issue you're going to run into with an MT is lead time. I believe it's 4-6 weeks? How soon do you need one? Are you AOG?
  11. Did someone say free donuts? Never tease a Mooniac like that...My favorite flavor is Lorde...
  12. Yeah, I was thinking that may just be newspaper "lost in translation". Hopefully they didn't actually shut off the engine..
  13. I know this is an old thread but my friend has been sending me some of his real life performance after getting his new 550 and TA TN system installed in his bonanza. I was skeptical when he told me the numbers but the they don’t lie. It’s pretty impressive considering the UL:
  14. In my experience Garmin gives you a data card with the first month free before you need to buy/add it to your subscription.
  15. Tim, my comment was that they all have 2 batteries. Whether they have charlie weights or not I believe is to correct a CG imbalance (from a specific equipment configuration) that batteries could not do alone. I don't think anyone would want to put in a third battery (expensive ballast without much more utility)!
  16. They do.
  17. This really proves that no good deed goes unpunished @LANCECASPER (I know you probably don’t mind, but thanks for helping everyone out!).
  18. Yes it would be nice if AI could actually make calls on things literally in the constitution and then punt to humans for everything else.
  19. The yokes made after 2006ish are very expensive (ergonomic style with the circular Mooney emblem). Of course, it's always a possibility at some point as Mooney ramps up some of these other projects. Your best bet tis to get your current ones wrapped by Aerocomfort or someone similar.
  20. “Say assholes on board and fuel remaining”
  21. Yeah, theirs is plus plus plus. I’m not saying it’s a good or bad deal, but there are a lot of factors to consider when choosing the installer. Based on what I’ve seen, their quote isn’t much different from a lot of other competitive shops.
  22. “Yeah....it was the...ah....turbulence that made me bust the bravo....that’s the ticket!”
  23. Ok, that’s a little closer to what I thought. The 3 servo that I got is about 1500 less.
  24. Yes thanks, and by breaker you mean the AP breaker? I don’t have an electric trim stand-alone breaker as I believe it’s incorporated into the current rocker.
  25. That seems very cheap, how much labor?
