  1. Do these have a sync wire so the left and right lights pulse or sync up when in the strobe configuration?
  2. I believe EASA is valid in the same way an STC is. That’s what I was told when I was looking at the wingtips from Aveo. So I would say yes.
  3. The only thing that would concern me with this prop is the thin metal strip. Most new MT props have the nickel leading edge compared to the older stainless steel edge. I’d make sure this one has the nickel leading edge. The stainless steel MT props seemed to have more issues with paint.
  4. Is your door seal tight? Both the baggage and the main door seal?
  5. For the price of 4 years at Embry riddle, one can buy an aircraft, go to a community college for 2 years, a state school for another 2, build a couple hundred hours, and sell the plane and probably come out a fairly better pilot with significantly more real world flying experience and probably save some money too. Just my 2 cents. I slightly ran into that issue 5 or 6 years ago. The hardest part is selling the plane after. I obviously wouldn't know.
  6. Is the sealant just sealing the area of the lens or also holding the lens in. I can’t tell if screws were used.
  7. The STC only includes the paperwork change from the 75 gallons to 89 gallons. Nothing on the air frame actually gets changed. Regardless if you have the 75, 89, or 100 gallon tabs, the tanks will easily keep on filling to in beween 102 to 106 galllons.
  8. thread creep but that is a sweet paint job.
  9. It flies the same, with the only difference being Acceleration and climb being faster. You want your full power FF at around 29GPH at least. Enjoy. It makes an already spicy airplane just a bit more spicy.
  10. As long as you had a valid medical after July 2006, you can get your basic med right now. Your medical doesn't need to be current. Limitations are less than 6 people, less than 6000 pounds, less than 250 knots, no for hire work, and no Class A. Don't really think you're going to run into those limitations with a J model. My mom used to be on Special issuance class 3. After the annoyances of dealing with the FAA, she got her Basic Med, and didn't have to deal with special issuance or the FAA anymore. You could probably be flying in less than a week if you just got your basic med. The current medical that the FAA is taking there time with hasn't been denied, so you are still very much eligible for basic med. If it gets approved, then ignore it, and just continue with basic med. If it does get denied, then you will lose your basic med as well.
  11. 403A6008-3 if its the same motor as on the ovation and eagle, This is the motor you need. It is an exact replacement of the one in there. @GeeBee created a thread a couple years back explaining the replacement process, but I have been unable to find it.
  12. Is it the same for the bravo as it is for the ovation?
  13. regardless if you're doing 1 or 2 mags. I recommend aero accessories in Van Nuys. They do quick and good work. They had my mag IRAN'd over night. Are you going surefly or electroair?
  14. https://www.aso.com/listings/spec/ViewAd.aspx?id=189755 plane has a prop control.
  15. The Rotax is significantly more modern than the Continental. Not superior in my opinion, but way more modern.
  16. They both accomplish exactly the same thing, slightly differently. No need to switch.
  17. A bravo that was not originally a TLS with a top overhaul would make me want to check that engine out. The lycoming 540 on the bravo is supposed to be pretty robust as far as the top end of that engine goes. When I got my Eagle, I originally wanted a 2GX. Having passed that point, I don’t regret my choice of going with a non g1000 airframe. Cost wise, the cost to add a GFC500 and a gtn750 with a G3X will be cheaper than buying a G1000 ovation/bravo, and you’ll have the GFC autopilot instead of the stec 55 and you’ll have waas.
  18. Shocker. Who would've guessed.
  19. F to a J isn't worth it in my opinion. F to a 252 or a Slovation is a different story. The K being a bargain compared to the J only applies to the 231 models as the post 1990 J models cost the same as the post 1990 K models. Electric F and J models are in about the same price category of to own per year, and the 252 and ovation are in a category above the F/J models, price wise. I am however talking about annual expenses, not the initial purchase price. As an FYI there is a way to get around the California tax if you're able to fly the plane out of the state for more than half the year. 8% of 200k is 16 grand. So you have to ask yourself if you'd rather spend 16k flying around the country or 16k on taxes.
  20. KSNA KGJT KRIL KGWS RLG FOOOT 18V You can do most of it below 10000ft, however the for the rollins pass, right by FOOOT, you'll need to climb up to 12500 probably for about 5 to 10 minutes. the majority of the flight can be done at 7500 and 8500, and once you pass grand junction you'll need to climb to around 9000 to 10000 ft. PM me if you want more details. This is one of my usual flights, so I do it fairly often.
  21. Probably Garmins remote com being used with the G3X
  22. With the quality of new ones that are coming out, I'd probably keep the current one you have in there.
  23. I always recommend the scosche mount. Its 16 bucks. I'd try that one first before you try anything else since its so cheap.
